My boys recently received a cute Holiday movie called Gotta Catch Santa Claus. Most notable to me is that it is featuring William Shatner as the voice of Santa Claus! I love it!
This is an all-new CGI-Animated movie, where a 12-year old boy (Trevor) sets out on a mission to catch old St. Nick in order to prove his existence to his friend – who is a girl. He has a crush on her, in case you are wondering. He has two little friends who help him on this mission, and it helps that all of them are unusually smart and clever! But Trevor is not the only one who is after Santa Claus. LaFreeze is a dim-witted ice monster who has a bone to pick with Mr. Claus. Every 100 years he tries to catch him with the help of some no-so-cheerful snowmen.
The movie has 6 fun songs, so it is a bit of a musical as Trevor breaks out into song and dance. There are also special features, like deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes footage and 2 sing-along songs. It has a run-time of 66 minutes. Gotta Catch Santa Claus is going to be broadcast nationally on ABC Family during their annual “25 Days of Christmas” programming block.
Overall it is super cute. My oldest really enjoys it – he’s almost 4. I’ve seen the movie for sale at Target now. It retails for about $19 at Target. I saw it for sale on Amazon for $14.
