Want to know what’s hot for girls this Christmas? Just ask one! I definitely believe that you can get more holiday insight out of a preschooler, grade schooler, tween and teen, as opposed to a catalog. See, I have two boys so my knowledge of what’s hot for girls can be limited. So I go to my number one “informant” – my niece. She is 4.5 years and absolutely loves dolls. In a sense, she is a doll-expert. One doll collection with true-to-you art-titude that she claims is must-have for the 2009 holiday season are the Moxie Girlz.
I am sure you have heard the term moxie before. Moxie is a postivie attitude, confidence, courage and energy. Who doesn’t want their daughter to embody those characteristics. The Moxie Girlz dolls are all about those qualities, as each doll’s story keeps them upbeat, caring and creative. In short, the dolls are meant to be beautiful inside and out – just like our girls in real life. The four dolls in the collection are Lexa, Sasha, Avery and Sophina. Lexa is a fair-skinned brunnete, Sasha is a dark-skinned brunette, Avery is a fair-skinned blonde and Sophina is an olive skinned brunette.
I had a chance to see Lexa Art-titude Dollpack up close. Lexa is just over 10 inches tall with hair going down to her knees. She has large green eyes and a fantastic outfit. It is a dress with a pettiskirt and matching leggings underneath. She is wearing white/pink sneaker-boots. She has an alternate outfit that comes with a faux leather dress with kimono-like sleeves. She comes with a bike and two markers (pink and orange). Your little girl can display her own creativity, drawing on her shoes and bike to make it her own. It’s all about indivduality!
You can purchase dolls, electronics and games under the Moxie Girlz brand. Dolls can include basic sets, Dollpacks (like the Lexa Art-titude Dollpack pictured), Jammaz sets that come with a musican instrument and funky hair style, best friend packs (2 in a pack) and a lot more.
Overall, I like how these dolls look like “girls”. Albeit, girls with huge eyes. But they are cute, sassy and there is nothing too grown-up about them. They are intended for ages 6 and up. Prices range from around $14 and up. You can purchase Moxie Girlz at our favorite toy store – Toys R Us !
So, if you are looking for a doll that encourages a positive, creative attitude – Moxie Girlz is the Mom Buzz approved!
