I absolutely love Macy’s. I love their store, their merchandise and their parade. I hope you have a chance to see their parade today! And that you got to see the sneak peek on how they make their floats!
Well, as usual, Macy’s has a lot going on to give back to the community. Right now there is Macy’s BELIEVE campaign which builds on the great success of last year’s holiday effort to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. This year, Macy’s is adding to the spirit of “Believe” with a national Santa Tour, an honorary National Believe Day, a “Yes, Virginia” animated special, and a new TV commercial featuring Queen Latifah. Here is a trailer for the animated “Yes, Virginia.”
The nostalgic holiday campaign was inspired by the New York Sun’s famous “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial from 1897 and includes letter-writing “Believe Stations” in Macy’s stores across the country. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million. (If you haven’t read the letter – check it out here: Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.)

I contribute to holiday cheer by making sure that our holiday parties have plenty of coffee, appetizers, and karaoke!!!
I contribute by smiling and saying happy holidays to strangers… People are so stressed this time of year so a smile and a kind word can make someone’s day
I believe we all have the spirit of Christmas in us–sadly we forget to use it most of the year–but Christmas tend to bring out the best in people. Every year I make a big basket of Christmas items, and baked goods–we then go out as a family on Christmas Eve and give it to a stranger–with a note explaining our family tradition and the hope that some day they will continue on our tradition.

I believe in Santa because of the spirit of the season. It seems like everyone is happy even though it’s a stressful time. They’re also more willing to give, time or money. I just love this time of the year. Thank you!
