Hasbro Action Figures: “HEROES” LINE-UP

Marvel-Universe-3-75-Spider_1My boys LOVE action figures. Transformers, Star Wars and the Super Heroes are HUGE on their must-have and must-play list. But my oldest recently watched G.I. JOE with his daddy in the theater, so I am extremely excited about the complementing G.I. JOE action figures from Hasbro.

Hasbro actually created the grand-daddy of action figures WITH a modest line of G.I. JOE action figures more than FOUR DECADES AGO!  Since then, Hasbro has created thousands of dynamic action figures, featuring an impressive combination of scale, detail and articulation and depicting characters from numerous iconic brands in addition to G.I. JOE, including the ones I mentioned above. These figures are perfect for die hard fans, as well as kids who are just learning about these amazing characters. You can purchase “traditional” action figures for $5.99 to $9.99 and they are usually for ages 4 and up.

One reason I approve of action figures is that they often depict “Heroes”, characters that my sons can look up to! Currently we are collecting models from three of the four available HASBRO’S HEROES LINE-UP Marvel Super Hero Squad packaging. These lines feature a unique two-inch scale and a cute, friendly and exaggerated style appealing to fans of all ages.

The various “Heroes” line-ups that I am aware of are:

  • ROBOT HEROES (TRANSFORMERS)
  • GALACTIC HEROES (STAR WARS)
  • SUPER HERO SQUAD (MARVEL)
  • COMBAT HEROES (G.I. JOE)

These cute toys are around $5.99 for a pack of 2 and are for ages 3 and up! Our biggest collection is with the Super Hero Squad line. We own 60. My boys play with these DAILY, and I swear even though they are 2 and 3, they know which ones they own. They will ask for a specific one and I will have to hunt it down, as they toys get lost under couches and tables during their adventures. I think my favorite one is Ghost Rider who comes with his motorcycle. It’s hard to say which one my sons favor. They love Hulk, Venom and Spiderman. They also fight over Darth Vader from the Galactic Heroes line-up. Honestly, they spend most of their waking hours with these toys.

transformersSomething new to me are that I just discovered are the Transformers R.P.M.’s Mini-Vehicles Single Packs. When TRANSFORMERS characters are “ROBOTS IN DISGUISE,” they take on the look of some of the most contemporary vehicles in the world, such as the Chevrolet Camaro Concept, Ford Mustang and GMC Topkick. For the first time ever, Hasbro offers mini vehicles of TRANSFORMERS characters that allow kids to engage in the classic
play pattern of racing cars across the floor, as well as on play sets and tracks. These cars don’t “transform”, but the robot version of the character is featured on the underside of each vehicle so everyone can identify the Transformer’s character. These retail price for $3.99 and are perfect for my sons age group, 3 & up.

For the holidays, all of these items make great stocking stuffer. When potty training, we used them as a reward for using the potty.  They are also great to stick in an Easter Basket or… like we mostly do … buy them just because we love watching the boys play and pretend. Keep an eye out for these items. We find the “HEROES” LINE-UP at Toys R Us and Target.

The Mom Buzz learned about the new items from Hasbro via press from HunterPR.

I don’t like putting loads of candy in the Easter baskets. You just gave me an idea for “Heroes” items to pick up that the kids love. Thanks!
