Skechers Shape-Ups

We are early into the New Year. Have you started working towards your fitness and health goals yet? I am a HUGE proponent of the gym, but I understand that it can be tough to go at times. The first year of both of my boys’ lives, I was pretty much hovering over them 24/7. The idea of going to the gym, unimaginable. So it’s lifestyle changes that helped me maintain my weight.

At work, I used the stairs rather than the elevator. I would walk to local restaurants for lunch, rather than drive. And I would try to eat healthier snacks from the machine – peanuts – not Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

There are things you can do at home too. For example, walk to the local playground with your kids, rather than drive. Make healthy snacks in muffin tins – for yourself and the kids! Choose a fun activity with your kids, instead of watching television or playing video games. And start incorporating a nightly walk into your routine, if the weather is good. Although, my husband and I have strolled the boys in the rain before.

Now, one thing I’ve noticed lately is that it might be as easy as the shoes you wear to help tone some parts of your body, like your legs and butt (aka glutes). I am HIGHLY interested in this, since those are my weak points! First off, there are Skecher’s Shape-ups. They come in a variety of colors and styles, which is great for women. When you wear them, you may experience the following benefits:

  • Improved posture
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Firms buttock muscles
  • Strengthens back muscles
  • Tightens abdominal muscles
  • Reduces cellulite
  • Tones muscles

You can wear them to run your daily errands, shopping, dropping kids off and more. Plus, you can incorporate them into a healthier lifestyle, where you choose to get your butt moving over inactivity. The result is a tighter core and more toned muscles, which in turn will help burn calories!

Fit Flops

Another similar piece of footwear are Fit Flops. Instead of being a sneaker, you get fitness benefits from a Flip Flop, which is great for those of us in warmer climates where Flip Flops are appropriate for almost every occasion!

When you wear Fit Flops, there is a lot of fitness going on with every step!  FitFlop midsoles incorporate patent-pending micro-wobbleboardTM technology, to give you a workout while you walk. They also have a  unique multi-density midsole that activates muscles midstep to help tone your thighs, your calves and your glutes. Plus, Fit Flops are biomechanically engineered to absorb shock, lessen joint strain, and recreate the gait of barefoot walking.

So, if you need help jump-starting your New Year’s resolutions, consider checking out those fitness footwear solutions! I know I am!

I talked to a lady the other day while in the checkout line who was wearing a pair of the tennis shoes. Sshe said they took a while to get use to them and at first made her dizzy. But the upside is she said they are now the only pair she wears and wears them everywhere

My wife just got a pair of Skecher’s Shape-ups. It’s only been two weeks, but she swears she feels a difference. She just loves them.
