Cookie Cutters for Any Occassion

I absolutely love making cookies with my boys. Sometimes we do a simple drop cookie, like Chocolate Chip. Other times we make Cookie Balls, like one where you use crushed Oreos and Cream Cheese and dip it into a candy coating. They love those. But shaped cookies are just cool too! Whether we make them to go along with a story we are reading, a holiday, birthday or just-because, baking and decorating shaped cookies is a blast.

One place to go for Cookie Cutters is Cheap Cookie Cutters. At this newly redesigned site you will find Disney Cookie Cutters, Superhero Cookie Cutters, Christmas Cookie Cutters, Halloween Cookie Cutters and many other categories. They will even help you design a custom cookie cutter! Already I have my eye on the Batman Cookie Cutter! I plan on doing a Batman Lego theme for my son’s 4th birthday, so this would be perfect. For my other son, we are planning a Pirate theme – so I love that CheapCookieCutters.com has a Pirate Cookie Cutter set!

We are also HUGE Disney fans, going monthly to Disney World. So, I was thrilled by their Disney Cookie Cutters, which includes Mickey (head or full body), Minnie, Little Mermaid, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh and much more. There are two pages of Disney possibilities!

I had the opportunity to review the Minnie Mouse Cookie Cutter, which looks a lot like the Mickey Mouse head cookie cutter. I can’t really distinguish between them visually on the website. I used that to my advantage, telling my boys it was really Mickey Mouse. And it is also good to know that I can make Mickey and Minnie using the same cookie cutter. It was a small Cookie Cutter, around 2 inches high and wide. From the base of the cutter (that touches the dough) to where you press down on your hand is around 1 inch. I love that it is metal, so it cuts the dough so much better than a plastic cookie cutter. You can either make simple shaped cookies, decorated with sprinkles, or you can really fill in the face for Mickey or Minnie. They have an example on their website. I decided to buy some candy melts and dip the heads into the chocolate for a 1/2 and 1/2 look – then I added sprinkles. Then I did some that were sprinkle-only. Finally I made Snickerdoodle versions. I think they came out great and the kids loved them!

The Minnie Mouse Cookie Cutter cost $5.95, very affordable and I can definitely see using it over and over again! Plus, you can be sure I’ll be back for that Batman Cookie Cutter in just a few months!
