My house has been taken over by shorties – my children. Now, considering their small stature, they don’t take up too much space. But their toys and gear – Oh My Goodness. Do you know I have already GIVEN AWAY A COUCH to make room for their train table in the living room. I figured it was healthy for their development? But, you have to get control where you can. That’s why it rocks that Boon, Inc. has sleek innovations that are sure to save you space… and your sanity. Here are my top 4 Space-Saving & Organizing Tools from Boon, Inc.
1. In The Kitchen: Countertop Drying Rack
Grass from Boon is an innovative countertop drying rack with an aesthetically pleasing shape and colors. Measuring 10″ x 10″ with a 2.5″ height, use it to dry baby utensils, pacifiers, bottle parts, sippy cups and more. As the water drains from these objects, it goes down past the “grass blades” into a drip tray below. This two-piece design is dishwasher safe.
2. In the Nursery: Changing Table Organizer
Stash is a multi-room organizer that comes in black or white. Honestly, you can use it in the office, kitchen, garage or more. My motherly opinion is it would be ideal for the changing table, to keep all must-haves close by. You could use the 9 clever and different shaped tubes to hold diaper cream, washcloths, pacifiers, cotton balls and more. It would look a lot better than a basket full of clutter and easier to find things than in a drawer.
3 & 4. In the Bathroom: Frog Pod and Potty Bench
You can easily lose your guest bathroom to rubber duckies, foam alphabet letters and squirting fish! My friend Jen (hi Jen) uses the Boon Frog Pod to scoop up her toys, so they aren’t milling all over the tub for guests to pick-up when they need to shower. (Sorry Jen!)
Boon also makes a potty bench, which I love and own. It features two enclosed side storage spaces to hold “potty training supplies”. And when you close the lid, it acts as a wide, sturdy stool that toddlers can easily maintain their balance.
5. Kid’s Bedroom: Animal Bag and Storage
I didn’t even want to attempt counting the boy’s plush toys. One of their favorite daily activities is to toss them all over the bedroom floor and… that’s it. Then I have a gazillion soft, cuddly guys to put away. But imagine if you could tuck all those plush toys into one giant plush bag – Boon’s Animal Bags! It comes in three sizes – Oval, Otto or Trio – depending on the plush animal population you are trying to control. Stick those softies in a bag and put them to use as a soft seat!
I had the opportunity to try out the Otto and was amazed how the easily 100 animals (minus the ones I threw into the washing machine) fit into the bag. There were all shapes and sizes of plush creatures, from singing puppies to Pegasus from Hercules. But when stuffed into the bag, they made a comfortable, super-sized plush seat. One side of the Otto is a lot bigger than the other. I found the easiest way to stuff Otto was to hold it upright, with the big base on the bottom. Then I stuffed the animals through the zip opening on top. I counted 6 zip opening. These zippered opening have screens, so you can still see some of your beloved plush friends inside. And those zippered opening also make it easy to grab a special fluffy that your child wants NOW.
The Otto is HEAVY when filled. You can add more plush toys for a more full look. You can add less for a more “bean bag” softness, so it is comfortable as a seat. If it gets dirty, the Animal Bags can be machine washed or dry cleaned. These seats are great for children 2 years and older.
My boys love the Otto. It is a place that they can sit together, read together or play Leapster together! I also drag it into the living room as a “gamer” seat when my oldest is playing Lego Star Wars or Lego Batman on the XBox.
