So, since beginning this Mom Buff journey I’ve gained around 7 pounds. That’s awesome, since my pants still fit! That means I am definitely building muscle. You can see that my 4 pack is still going strong in this relaxed picture. I definitely have more shape to my shoulders. My quads (thighs) are still my weak point. I’ve been doing a new workout this month, though, and I do see progress! So I’ll just modify it slightly and hopefully still see progress.
At the gym:
One thing I am uber proud of is that people at the gym have been taking notice of my progress! I’ve had a woman ask for advice to shape her abs, I had a man compliment my squat/jump routine that I’ve been doing and one of the trainers simply was impressed with what I’ve done so far. That all happened within a 2-week time span, so my Ego is getting pretty big.
Advice:
With all of that top-of-mind, I bring some advice. Often women feel self-conscious at the gym. The thing is, although some exercises may look funny at first or make you feel uncomfortable, if you do them as described and your seeing results, then keep at it! For example, that Squat-Jump exercise I described above. To do it, I side-squat and them jump straight into the air. Then I side-squat in the other direction and do another leap into the air. It can feel kind of ridiculous, especially when everyone else is pumping iron. But the other day a guy complimented me on my leaps. Ha! So, in a sense, sometimes you have to take a “leap” of faith when it comes to building a better body. And try to squash any worries or cares about what someone else thinks about your workout routine!
ONLY 8 MORE MONTHS UNTIL THE COMPETITION!
