An Extra $100…

Imagine if someone handed you an extra $100. What would you do with it? Would you use for something sensible…. or something fun? On yourself, your kids or someone in need? It’s a fun thing to think about … and hey with all the bloggy give-aways an extra $100 is always a possibility! But JuiceBox Jungle recently posed that question and I thought about it… and here is my answer.
The truth is, $100 by itself doesn’t go too far nowadays does it? I can’t pay for my kids school, it might cover a week’s worth of groceries or fill my gas tank up 3 times. It’d pay for my 1/2 my electricity bill – although it would more than cover my water bill! It could get me a few outfits for the boys … or two pairs of jeans for me. So, if someone plopped $100 in my hand, where would it go?
I would probably give each boy $25 to deposit in their respective bank accounts, which are slowly growing. And the extra $50 I would put aside to buy a dresser from IKEA. Fun, yah? But we recently bought a bed from there and NONE of the rest of the furniture matches. So that’s what our family motto is ….save, save, save. Dave Ramsey would be uber proud of us not using credit.
So what would you do with $100? (And let’s all keep our fingers crossed! By the way, you can win $50 from theMomBuzz with my Goby Give-away!)
Kodak and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this fun post, about what I’d do with a surprise extra $100 if someone handed it to me next month.

I’d like to say I would do something fun, but necessary like new clothes for me because I dropped 35 lbs and my clothes dont fit! But in reality I would probably put it towards paying off one of my bills.
Congratulations on dropping 35 pounds!
I’d go out to a really nice dinner with my husband for our anniversary. NO kids. That would be a nice change.
I would put it in our vacation fund.
Use it to buy any grocery products that were on sale and that keep for a long time, even meat, because I have a freezer and could freeze it and use it up over the period of two or three months.
Like you said, $100 doesn’t go far any more, and I have so many places I need for it to go, I would most likely put it in the bank to draw on. I have a small income, work that needs done on my home, several necessary trips this year(grandson graduating, grand daughter wedding, new baby, etc.) and every little bit helps.
