You know how right now, everything is about being unique and customization. Who wants to be or do the same thing as everyone around them? Isn’t that why the trend is to give your kids less common names, to wear custom shirts and accessories from Zazzle, JustJen or Customized Girl and even personalized ringtones on your iPhone.
Wait … the iPhone. Everyone has one it seems. Black. To really personalize your iPhone you add skins, cases, apps and more. Well, one of the coolest iPhone custom accessories I’ve seen are Earpollution custom earbuds and custom earphones. There are actually three styles that you can go step-by-step and design your own! I loved all three styles, the Nervepipes (sweet and making a statement with lots of custom color opportunities), Fallout (with awesome cushions for comfort) and the earbuds called CustomFlow.
Prior to getting some CustomFlows, I was using the plain white headphones that came with the iPhone. They were ALWAYS falling out at the gym and the music sounded so-so on them. It was old-school earbuds for such a chic device. But I thought all earbuds would be similar. Oh-so wrong! The CustomFlow has a different design, where it actually has a little more length to show off the design on the side and the part that fits in your ear is so comfortable I don’t even realize it’s there. Plus, I can do a complete workout without them falling out … unless I accidentally get the wire caught on a weight. It happens to everyone eventually. But that is human clumsiness, not earbud error! And the music is just AWESOME. The sound is FULL and CLEAR. It’s funny how people try to talk to me, but I no longer really hear them since the music is definitely in the foreground now, allowing me to concentrate at the gym on myself – not my surroundings.
I had my husband try the CustomFlow on and he agreed that it is more comfortable … and he asked how much they cost. Oh … he wants some. LOL! Don’t worry, I’ll buy him a pair for an upcoming birthday or Father’s Day. They are only $19.99. Not an expensive gift at all!
So let’s talk customization process. I played with customizing all three headphones, since I really loved how many options there are with the bigger ones, with choosing hinge colors and cushion colors. Those larger headphones cost $34.99. But in the end I really wanted the Custom Earbuds. First you choose your “base color” which sits by your ear. You can choose gray, black or white. I was so over white – so I chose black. Then you choose the rim, which is the outer sides of the earbuds. Here you have 14 color choices, including a cool metal and gold color. In the end, I went girly with Hot Pink. Finally you choose the inner artwork, which really stands out for everyone to see. This was the hardest for me to settle on, with 69 options – including some solid colors. In the end I chose “Sun Cloud” which has a groovy cloud that can match with almost any rim selection. The whole process of designing your own earbud was really fun. But then there is the wait for your custom creation to arrive. EEK!
Well, my CustomFlow came and I loved them. It’s even cooler than it looked on the design screen. The cord is gray, which I like. And they come in a little zippered case to keep them in when you aren’t wearing them. That probably helps them last longer, since they won’t be loose, tangled, pulled on and crushed in a briefcase, purse or gym bag.
Overall, I adore the custom Earpollution Earbuds and earphones. They will be my affordable, fun go-to gift for family throughout the year!

One Buzz Reader will win a iFrogz gift card to customize their own pair, will cover the cost of any earphone.

For my custom flow, I’d pick a gray base, a white rim, and the flames artwork. I loved my iFrogz Earpollution iPlugz, but they didn’t survive a drop into my coffee. I bought their Timbre set but haven’t used it yet.
I like: Artwork – Black Flowers; Rim and Base – Black
