Frigidaire Range & Microwave Test Drive – Week One

So I’ve owned my Frigidaire Range and Microwave for about a week now and I am already in love. In case you are wondering, below is a picture of my old range next to the picture of the newly installed range/microwave combo. You can see how the burners are all lopsided on the old range, since I always have to remove them to clean spills under them. And plus, it was just old, rusty-ish, and one of the burner lights wasn’t working. That was what was removed.
What came in was a stainless steel range (Model: FPEF3081KF) and over-the-range microwave (Model: FPBM189KF). First off, I learned that it can be tricky to figure out whether a range will fit in your current area in a kitchen when replacing an appliance. I kept wavering back and forth on if it would fit. The measurements for this Frigidaire range were 29-7/8″ W x 47″ H x 28-1/2″ D. The height kept freaking me out – but then I realized that the height is what is against the wall, showing the control panel, so it doesn’t matter. And as long as your countertops are a standard height, not a special height like for a basketball player, you should be good to go. The width was main concern, but it fit perfectly. Since we are talking measurements, the one for this model over-the-range microwave were 29-15/16″ W x 17-1/16″ H x 16-3/8″ D.
I took the time to do a quick VLOG to show you some of my favorite features, along with one super cool feature that would make this stove perfect for entertaining and large dinners. You can watch the VLOG right here at the Mom Buzz, just press play:
In case you can’t watch the video, here are the highlights. My favorite feature is how easy it is to keep this glasstop stove clean. Before, if I had a spill it would go under the burner and since I was cooking, it would turn into a hardened mess. Repeated lifting of the burners to clean left them lopsided, creating even more spills. The glass top is nice and level. All spills are easy to clean with damp, warm, soapy cloth. And at the end of the day I just quickly wipe down the top and front to make sure everything is clean throughout the night. It comes with a cleaner to keep the stove top looking new, but you only need to do that once a month. Buff on some of the white cleaner with the supplied sponge and then wipe off with a clean cloth. It’s so easy to maintain the appearance of this appliance.
Plus, I was always iffy about stainless steel appliances. I’ve had them and they get fingerprints so easily. That’s why I chose a black fridge. But the Frigidaire Stainless Steel appliances I have installed have a protective coating which has eliminated fingerprints! I have not had one fingerprint on either appliance. It is awesome! Now I say it has eliminated, but I want to let you know that Frigidaire simply says it reduces the appearance of fingerprints. But in my home – not one fingerprint has been caught on the stainless steel. Amazing.
One unique feature that I adore for entertaining and large dinners – think Thanksgiving – is the Keep Warm Drawer. You know that drawer on the very bottom that is often used for storage. Well, Frigidaire makes use of that space creating a Keep Warm Drawer where you can keep rolls and pies as the Turkey is cooking! Just put the items in the drawer and then on the control panel push Keep Warm. You can’t get much easier! Depending on the item, you can choose to have the temperature in the drawer at high (like for gravies), medium or low.
So, that’s what I have noticed so far. I have more thoughts to come – you can trust me on that – where I will buzz about some other AMAZING features I’ve found and noticed. Any questions about the appliances, feel free to ask and I’ll address them in a post or comment.

I wrote this review while participating in a Test Drive Campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Frigidaire and received a Frigidaire Range/Microwave to facilitate my review.

WOW, nice set…. love the microwave ! No fingerprints..NICE
Shows what I know. I didn’t know a range was an oven. LOL. Love that there is a keep warm drawer, cause yeah, thats my storage area for pans.
Lee
LOL. I was actually wondering if that was ALWAYS a keep warm drawer or if it is special for this range. I think its special.. otherwise I’ve been wrong for 30 years!
that is a beautiful set! I so badly wanted a smooth surface like that for our stove, but unfortunately our hook up is gas! I bet you’re loving it after those lopsided burners!
lucky dawg! the Keep Warm Drawer is a great feature, very handy
It looks awesome, Erin! I’m so jealous.
I love that the stainless steel has a no fingerprint coating! Thanks for the week 1 update!
Oh I love it! See if i had that then I would have to go out and purchase a matching dishwasher and fridge. HA! Oh and I see it matches your Keurig. Can we come over and have you prepare us an amazing meal on it?
It actually perfectly complements the Keurig! And I bake better than I cook, honestly. I’ll bake you a cake with some Keurig coffee to go with it!
see i can cook better than bake so we could trade off..lol
You are so lucky! That is a really nice looking set! Now you should host a party to get it all nice and help break it in!

WOW!! It looks and sounds great! The Keep Warm Drawer is something I would love to have
So funny, I used to be a kid that NEVER wanted to be in the kitchen or even in the HOUSE at all. NEVER in my life would I have ever said an appliance is BEAUTIFUL! BUT I fell in love with baking and candy making, making lots of comfort foods for my six kids, three of which are tweens and a teen now…the older ones have grown. It is so AMAZING to pass on recipes, to get together with my growing family ( now 3 grandkids), and to create LOVE out of food! I do think these nice appliances make it easier and just more fun to cook. There are so MANY amazing features we never could have imagined when I started a family over 25 years ago. It is just a simple fact…my love for cooking and baking could not exist without these amazing giant “TOOLS”. ANd I gotta’ say, your new ones ARE beautiful. Id rather have a great cooking appliance ANY day than diamonds…seriously, I am weird, right??? I wonder if these companies really truly KNOW how much they contribute to FAMILY events, memories, and the gifts some people have with food…like my mom’s AMAZING pies…she is makes the WORLD’s BEST.
NO, I have NOT been hitting the cooking sherry!LOL…so funny I got all misty about cooking! AM SO jealous of your shiny new ‘toys’!!
OMG, it looks fabulous! So professional.
Wow, this looks awesome.
Wow they are so stylish! Enjoy!!!
How lucky for you! I’d LOVE a warmer drawer… great for those nights when hubby doesn’t get home when planned!
Oh, I’d love to have that! All the programs on HGTV rave about stainless steel and I don’t have any! I know you’ll enjoy the range and microwave. Glad you get to try it.
How nice, you are such a lucky lady to get those wonderful appliances!
Wow! What a before and after photos. Your new stainless steel Frigidaire range and microwave look beautiful. Enjoy your new appliances!
Frigidaire is a great brand. Would you believe my Frigidaire refrigerator is 27 years old? Really, it is and works fine but every so often it makes a weird noise and if I have visitors they always ask, “What the heck is that?” I respond my refrigerator and they tell me maybe it’s time for a new one. I’d love to have all new Frigidaire stainless steel appliances.
I would love to have the keep warm drawer!
Wow, what a nice stove. So much more stylish and modern than the old one. I could use a new one too. Lucky you!
I am so jealous
These look so amazing and so happy you get to test drive them.
You know, I think I have a Keep It Warm drawer as well that I use as storage–going to have to pull out the ole instruction manual and check this out!
Wow, that’s what I need. I love the flat top range. Easy to use and wipe down. Thanks for the review.
I really love the change…this is definitely an upgrade!
