Parenthood Premiering on NBC

I honestly don’t get a chance to watch a lot of television, so I was thankful to catch a break to watch a “screener” of the pilot episode of Parenthood from NBC. It’s a drama – with some humor, just like real life – where a family lives in the same town and go through common “parenthood” issues.

At first, I was expecting over-the-top humor. But while comments like, “You googled my sperm” had me laughing, parents learning their child had Aspergers was a topic that gave you a lot more food for thought.

Here is a clip from the pilot:

Parenthood is produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard. The Parenthood cast is amazing, with stars like Craig T. Nelson, Lauren Graham and Erika Christensen. The series follows 4 siblings (2 boys and 2 girls), their families (wives, husbands, kids) and their parents. In the pilot they set the groundwork for a lot of interesting twists and turns with upcoming shows, with a Type A mom/lawyer and her stay-at-home husband, a divorced mom of two, the “perfect family” scenario and one brother who doesn’t want to grow up … but is forced to when parenthood becomes apart of his life sooner than expected.

Overall, it looks awesome. With Ron Howard, Brian Graxer, Lauren Graham, Craig T. Nelson and Erika Christensen in the mix – it just seems like a winner! Check out the videos of the show… and be sure to catch it when it premiered in March!

This show looks really good…and I have missed Lauren Graham since Gilmore Girls!

This does look really good. I think Craig T. Nelson is a great choice for the patriarch of the family. I am also a fan of Erica Christensen from Traffic. It’s on Tuesdays after The Biggest Loser so I think it has a great time slot.

  3. I’ve seen a few commercials for this and it will be one I’ll be checking out. Glad to hear you liked it.
