Build-a-Bear: Star Wars, Super Heroes and Frogs

Over the past few months I’ve made a few visits to Build-a-Bear. We love Build-a-Bear, having bought a Rudolph Build-a-Bear for my son when he was around 1 and then getting a dog and bunny for the boys one special day. And you can’t forget about the singing Frosty! The boys are still playing with them! But the other day I saw that there was a Star Wars Darth Vader outfit at the store. So I decided to give the puppy and bunny some new apparel. My oldest choice Darth Vader (came with a light saber) and my little one chose Batman. We just brought our Build-a-Bears in, got them new outfits to wear straight from the store!

I love how I can stick the bunny ears out of the Darth Vader helmet. And for Batman, you can pop the little tail out for the dog.

Most recently I won a $25 gift card to Build-a-Bear from As They Grow Up. This time was really special, because both boys immediately knew what they want, helped more with the stuffing, interacted with the Build-a-Bear associate (who did a super job talking to a 3 and 2 year old), added their hearts, washed their choices and helped scan and type in their new friends’ information at the computer. What did they choose this time? FROGS! How cute! How green! And they are just loving on them. I can be pretty frugal, but I knew how much the boys loved the sounds in their Frosty, so I let them add the Ribbit sound to their frogs for an additional $3. My oldest is Build-a-Bear savvy now and wanted an outfit for the frogs, but those big heads wouldn’t fit in a Clone Trooper mask! LOL! Maybe next time we have to just get regular bears so they can have outfits that are easier to put on?

And yes … there will be a next time! There is something special about Build-a-Bear toys, they don’t just end up in the Animal Bag as stuffing! They get played with and cuddled! So money well spent!

This is solely the opinion of the Mom Buzz. Other people may have different experiences with the product. And don’t forget to enter my other hot contests so you can win and try buzzworthy products!

We love Build A Bear too and those little bears do get pulled around. Davis spotted the those outfits last time we went and made our valentine dog but they would not have looked right on it. I think that will be a special Easter or Birthday treat for him since that is just around the corner.

I absolutely love Build-A-Bear and after listening to the CEO’s speech at Disney SM Moms, I am even more sold! She is such a genuine and caring person.

Erin, it was so wonderful to meet you! I am so proud of you for taking those 2 boys to the park by yourself! You are the woman!

  3. Those frogs are adorable! My daughter has a pink cheetah and my son has a blue dinosaur – they love Build-a-Bear too.

The Cheetah and Blue Dino sound adorable! Do you have a picture of it at your site? Ideas for future visits. LOL!

Do you know there is a Dinosaur Build a Bear in Orlando, FL? It’s at a restaurant called T-Rex Cafe. It’s “build-a-bear” but you can ONLY do dinosaurs! LOL! I am tempted to do it for the boys…
