Get a Workout While You Walk: With Fitness Footwear

Recently I buzzed about the awesome Skecher’s Shape-Ups from FitnessFootwear.com. They have a unique, rounded bottom that forces you to push off with your toe so that you work-out your legs, butt, back and abs. Another shoe with similar benefits, but a different way of achieving them, are Fit Flops, also available from Fitness Footwear!

Fit Flops use a microwobble-board technolgy to help increase muscle activation and reduce back and joint stress. What exactly is a wobbleboard? Well, I am still tying to understand why they call it that, since I don’t feel anything wobbling! Mostly, it feels as if the shoes are angled slightly, toes lower than heels, but super comfortable. From what I understand, the heel of the Fit Flop is high-density to help reduce shock, making it more comfortable on achy joints. The middle of the shoe is low-density, which creates an instabilty and causes your leg muscles to activate, work and tone … and finally the front of the shoe is mid-density to keep you walking at a good pace!

Fitness Footwear has Fit Flops in both casual, sporty and dressy flip flops – perfect for residents in states who live in flip flops (uh hum, Florida). As I say, only a Floridian would wear Flip Flops to church and the White House! Fitness Footwear also sells Fit Flop slippers called Goghs, perfect for working out those muscles while wandering around your house!

I received the Women’s Fit Flop in Chocolate Oasis to start toning my glutes and thighs. I love the brown suede straps, completely casual and matching my jeans or shorts. When I walk in the Fit Flops, I swear I can feel my butt working out! It’s so awesome! Plus, they are so comfortable on the bottom of my feet, unlike cheap plastic flip flops. I remember getting a pair of traditional flip flops to walk around Hawaii for my honeymoon and boy were my feet tired after all the walking we did! But I bet the Fit Flops would have been PERFECT! Especially the cute Walkstars in red – yes, those are the ones I now have my eye on.
