I am SO excited about the new Alice in Wonderland that will be on the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™ on March 5, 2010. I am going with my husband and oldest son – the little crazy one will have to stay home. He’s crazier than the Mad Hatter and I can’t expect him to sit still for the feature. But my oldest is a movie fiend and a huge Tim Burton fan. (Seriously…) Thankfully, the MPAA rating is PG.
Like everything Tim Burton touches, this new tale will have a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. Capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865) and “Through the Looking-Glass” (1871) with stunning, avant-garde visuals and the most charismatic characters in literary history.
About the movie: The film features Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikoska as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. The all-star cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover. I was surprised and delighted to find out from the fun facts section that Shinedown is on the “Almost Alice” soundtrack! This prompted me to head to iTunes and check it out! It’s a very haunting song and totally perfect for Burton’s reimagination of Alice. I love all things Alice in Wonderland, Tim Burton and Shinedown so this made my day! As did the Alice themed makeup palette I bought today but I digress. My neice is also beginning to love all things Alice so this prize pack would be perfect for both of us. She can have the game and the nail polish…I can have the soundtrack and the mini poster.
Thanks so much for the wonderful wonderland contest! I’ll be crossing my fingers and toes!

I learned that this movie is a continuation of the original Alice in Wonderland, I had thought it was a re-make.
I learned that Johnny Depp’s eyes were digitally enlarged for the film…creepy!
I learned that Roger Ebert called it fascinating and loved it. And since he is my very favorite critic…that’s good enough for me. Plus, come on…it’s Johnny Depp!!!!!!!

The movie is based on a story written in 1865.
It was produced by Tim Burton. I guess I have this crazy rare condition. I cannot watch 3D movies (due to a genetic vision problem). Now all movies and even TVs are going 3D. I will have to wait until this comes out on DVD and watch it in 2D. Thank you
danny elfman produced the music to this excellent movie!
