I am a HUGE Pampers fan! With two boys, I’ve tried Huggies, Luvs, Publix brand, Target brand and various cloth. Okay, I admit I love cloth diapers, but that was towards the very end of my diapering of Lochlan. And even then I used Pampers at night. But considering how Pampers Cruisers were my go-to diapers, not looking disgusting after being used and/or too stuffy, I was uber surprised that they decided to upgrade their already awesome diaper!
Now, my boys are already potty trained, but they asked me to take a look at the new style anyways and have a friend try them. The diapers are cute with Elmo decorating the front. The sides are stretchy, which I always loved about Pampers. I found that other diapers would lose their “side tabs” when diapering my son. So even though the diaper was “cheaper”, I would have to throw it away unused, which was a bigger waste then spending a little more for a quality diaper.
The biggest news about Pampers with the Dry Max technology is that it has a new core which allows the diaper to be thinner after being wet. My friend tried it with her 2 year old boy. She said the diapers seemed overall thinner, even before getting wet. The diaper is advertised as locking wetness away from your baby’s skin for up to 12 hours. I always thought Pampers did a great job, and my friend agrees. There is no weird gunk that has exploded from the Pampers and her baby doesn’t “feel” wet when it’s time to change him.
Overall, she says that when the diaper is wet it is less bulky, but still flexible and comfortable. I always hated how some of the other diapers we used got stiff after being wet – how uncomfortable. That said, even though it locks away wetness for up to 12 hours, don’t leave a baby unchanged for that long during the day! Honestly, I changed diapers as soon as they were wet/dirtied. It’s better for baby’s bottoms!
The new design actually contains 10 percent less material weight, so it can help reduce a family’s impact on the environment, if they are not ready to make the switch to cloth. In fact, if current North American Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers users switched to the new Pampers Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max diaper, they could together throw away the weight of 1 billion less diapers every three years (based on 08/09 volume for Swaddlers/Cruisers).
The new Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers with Dry Max will be available at retail across the country beginning in March 2010. Product will be available at mass, discount, baby specialty, grocery stores and online retailers where Pampers products are sold, with the same retail pricing as the current Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers Diapers (pricing is at the sole discretion of the retailer).

One reader will win a coupon for a week’s worth of Pampers Dry Max diapers and a Liz Lange diaper clutch (Clutch retails for $50)!

I trust pampers because they have served me well in that they keep babies dryer.
I like that the dry max makes for a thinner diaper. With thicker diapers, it sometimes make snapping the onesies difficult because they are so bulky but with Pampers, I do not have that problem.
