As a Floridian, I never turn down some strappy footwear! It’s a necessity in this humid environment, as moms wear them to playdates, the beach, theme parks, errands and more. Recently I got a phone call from a Flip Flop company. You wouldn’t think that was a big deal, until you realize there is only one in the USA. The rest are outsourced, as far as I am aware. And this USA company does its best to lessen its impact on the environment, recycling their old sandals and flip flops into new ones. Recently, Okabashi sent me some hot pink flip flops to try out. They were unlike any other pair I’ve ever worn. No foam bottom with a plastic strap to cut into your toes here! These are all molded from one piece, which is so unique. They are made of a plastic called microplast, which is sturdy yet comfortable. I got a size 8, and there was more than enough room for my foot – but not too much room. It has about an extra 1/2″ behind my heel.
Okabashi sandals and flip flops have a 2 year warranty. When they start showing excessive wear and tear you can send them back to Okabashi to be recycled into their next batch of footwear!
Maintenance is easy. I’ve already had to wash mine because my Shar-Pei Sookie stole them and stuck them in a hole in the backyard. They were FILTHY. I hosed them off and they were perfectly clean. But, if you really want to get them clean and all the bacteria off them (considering where you wear them), just stick them in the dishwasher. These sandals are dishwasher safe!

I couldn’t find the style I was sent for review. It has little flowers embedded onto the top of the flip flop, massaging nubs and a pretty patterned strap. They have a bit of a raised heel on the back, which is comfortable to walk in. Online now I love the Original Classic Flip-Flop. My favorite part – 15 colors to choose from! I could easily choose green, yellow, and teal to add to my collection!

I have been wearing Okabashi sandals for a few years and started my whole family wearing them too (men and women). They are the most comfortable ever, my feet don’t get tired or sore even if I do a lot of walking. I have 7 pairs and ordered myself a new pair tonight! They do have a 2-year warranty if they break, but of all the pairs I’ve purchased (25+) only 2 broke. So keep your receipt so you can send them in and get a free replacement! LOVE these shoes, you will too!
I’ve been a huge fan of Okabashi for several years….can’t even say how many pairs I’ve owned or bought for other people to try out. I wear these sweet shoes from April through November and just put them on the top rack of the dishwasher when they need a scrub. Absolutely the most comfortable and durable flip flop in the WORLD. I wish more folks would order them…several people I’ve told about Okabashi have said “they are too expensive!” Then I just laugh and ask them how many pairs of cheap-o’s they’be bought in the last two years….five? Six? Ten? Quality prevails with this product…I JUST LOVE THEM!
