Here Comes Peter Cottontail
Hopping Down the Bunny Trail
Hippity Hoppity
Easter’s on its way!
Are you getting excited for Easter? I know I am! Each holiday has a whole new meaning now that I have kids. And 2 and 4 is a fun age where kids really get into the holidays, crafts, snacks and holiday characters. Now, my kids know Jack Skeleton for Halloween and Santa for Christmas, but I don’t think they believe me that an Easter Bunny is coming this year to leave gifts … even though he’s done that since before my kids were born! But a movie like the classic Here Comes Peter Cottontail is just the sort of thing to build some fun Easter memories and fuel their imagination.
Synopsis:
Peter Cottontail wants to be the #1 Chief Easter Bunny and everyone in April Valley agrees … except for his archrival, evil Irontail. In the movie Peter Cottontail agrees to a contest against Evil Irontail to see who can deliver the most Easter eggs. Peter oversleeps, leaving Irontail to rule April Valley. So Peter has to race through time celebrating all the holidays to deliver eggs and save Easter for children everywhere.
My Thoughts:
There is a remake of Here Comes Peter Cottontail, but this review is for the original 1971 classic. If you like the classic Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Coming to Town, then Here Comes Peter Cottontail will fit right in with your collection. There is a narrator who keeps the story flowing and explains what is going on as the story progresses. The stop motion of the characters just brings back so many great memories for me and the kids really seem to enjoy it. And as you watch you may hear a familiar voice – Vincent Price plays the voice Irontail the bunny. Casey Kasem also plays a role in the movie, playing the voice of Peter Cottontail. The story is warm and fuzzy, just like Peter Cottontail.
Restored:
This 2010 release is remastered in high definition. Colors pop and images are clear. Yet, it still retains it’s classic charm.
Here Comes Peter Cottontail is perfect for the Easter Basket or to get the kids excited beforehand. It’s available for $9.93 wherever DVDs are sold. You can also purchase it from iTunes for $7.99.

One reader will win Here Comes Peter Cottontail – 2010 Release of the 1971 Classic.

The Easter bunny is delivering a few great Easter baskets from The Popcorn Factory. I also believe he said a few Dr. Seuss books and plush toys would be mixed in there.

The Easter Bunny will be doing his usual mischief and hiding baskets filled with chocolate, jelly beans and marshmallow peeps all around the house for each family member. I used to love watching Peter Cottontail on TV every year when I was a child. Thank you for the chance to win.
