April Showers Bring Batman Powers

Without a doubt, my oldest loves super heroes. Ironman, Spiderman, Hulk … and of course, Batman. I love this heroic obsession, since many of these characters have many admirable traits. And I love how active his imagination is as he pretend to be his favorite heroes. So, as a mom I do everything I can to indulge this love, from toys, games, t-shirts, action figures and more.

So, I was so EXCITED to see that Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Washington Shoe Company have unleashed the ultimate Bat-gadget this rainy season with a rain collection inspired by his favorite super hero, Batman. The collection includes a hooded rain slicker with removable cape, Batman boots and a matching Batman umbrella that displays the Bat-Signal. The total approximate retail value of the COMPLETE SET is $102.95, but you can purchase just the pieces you want. Currently this selection is available at Nordstrom’s nationwide, as well as at select specialty stores.

The Batman raincoat with detachable cape is available from 2T to 6X. My son received 4T/5T for review. I think it’s real neat that the cape is detachable. It is made of a lighter material than the slicker itself, which is tough and thick. The raincoat mimics Batman’s molded suit. It hangs low on my son, keeping him very dry when paired with the boots. And the attached hood adds water protection even when not used with the umbrella. (Retail Price: $44.95)

The Batman rain boots are  available in child’s size 5-13 and youth sizes 1-4. My son usually both wear 8.5, but we received the 9 to review. It has two loops on either side of the boot that allows him to put on and take off the boot himself, at only 3 years of age. And this kid usually ARGUES with me to wear shoes outside, but he’s taken to wearing them everywhere… even when it’s not raining! The boots are black with a bat signal logo on the side and a 3-Dish Batman leaping from the front of the boot. High quality, sturdy – perfect for your little super hero! (Retail Price: $32.95)

When it comes to children’s umbrellas, I only have my 25 year old Snoopy Umbrella to compare to. (I still have my kid umbrella from childhood, I passed it on to my kids.) That umbrella used to clip my fingers when i would try to open and close it. But the Batman Umbrella you can just slide open and close. And when it is open, it doesn’t just slide closed on the child using it! (Retail price: $14.95)

All of these products were tested on a rainy day and I have to say it made splashing in puddles a lot of fun for my oldest. I would definitely say that Bruce Wayne would approve – I know the Mom Buzz does!
