Moms love those little plastic, resealable baggies. We put all kinds of things in them, from snacks for the kids to small items we don’t want to lose, get wet or get lost in our totes. What I never thought of was what a waste it was to discard those plastic baggies. Did you know that more than 20 million sandwich bags from school lunches go into U.S. landfills every day! For a mom who is trying to save the world one reusable tote at a time, my plastic baggie usage was so not earth-friendly. Thankfully, there has been some buzz building around LunchSkins.
I am honestly hoping that I will find LunchSkins on sale at my local supermarket and Target soon – they are just too cool, cute and practical. LunchSkins are reusable baggies that you can use for snacks and other do-dads. After usage, just wash, dry and re-use. LunchSkins are made with a unique, high-quality thick cotton fabric that is used in European commercial bakeries and restaurants, so they are completely dishwasher and washing machine safe.
LunchSkins reusable baggies are available in three sizes and dozens of modern, bright graphics.I was sent a sandwich bag in red apple and orange polkadot snack bag for testing. I decided to bring them to Star Wars weekend with me. My intention was to put pretzels in them … but I couldn’t pass up on using them for other practical uses. The Snack Size one was perfect for holding gift cards and receipts that I wanted to keep track off in the park. The sandwich bag was perfect for holding Leapster cartridges, keeping them in a central location in our luggage for when the kids wanted to play.
My goal is to get a good supply of these, though, so I can use them for snacks AND many other uses. And they also make good gifts for “green” friends and family members. Prices range from $7.85 for a snack bag to $10.95 for a sub bag. They can be purchased online at www.lunchskins.com or at a number of retailers nationwide.Overall, LunchSkins are better for the environment, practical, budget-friendly, fashionable and safe – totally buzzworthy!

I would use these for snacks until my daughter goes to school, and then to pack her daily lunch. Her school does not have a cafeteria, so there will be a lot of packing going on!
