Fair Trade Home Decor & Accessories from NOVICA

Yesterday I buzzed about the Jewelry that you could find on NOVICA, a leading fair trade artisan website that is affiliated with National Geographic. NOVICA gives talented artisans from around the world a place to express their talents and provide access to the world market.

You can find a huge array or items, from silver jewelry to home decor. And when I say Home Decor, I truly mean ANYTHING you could possibly use in your home – like paintings, furniture, rugs, mirrors, tableware and more.

I have a friend who is getting married and they are an older adult couple who has most everything they need. I decided to look through NOVICA to see if there was something different they could use. I was in love with a lot of the bamboo centerpieces from Daeng Thanunchai – and had a few of his pieces in my cart. But I wasn’t sure what their taste would be for decor and decided to go with something pretty AND practical, to ensure they bring it out for entertaining. I fell in love with the collection by Javier and Efrén from Mexico. They had the most exquisite pitchers and glasses for various occasions. I finally decided on a tall glass pitcher with a cobalt ring around the top, along with a set of 6 complementing tequila glasses, which would also be good for serving other desert beverages.

When the items arrived I was not disappointed. The glass was thick, the pieces were well-made and the colored rings were vibrant, yet simple. I know that the recipients will not be disappointed. And I love how the packages come with a little card that speaks briefly about Javier and Efrén and the pieces that I am gifting.
