Reduce Summer Brain Drain – Summer Bridge Workbooks #win

I think most parents are aware that their children lose some skills and forget concepts during summer vacation. With so many distractions like television, handhelds and road trips – math, geography, grammar and other lessons are forgotten. But when school starts a few months later, they need to be able to pick up where they left off.

For the past two years my kids have been utilizing Summer Bridge Workbooks to build on skills needed for the school year. Honestly, my youngest is still too young for school, but even he enjoys tracing letters and learning shapes, colors and values found in the Summer Bridge Pre-K book! And my oldest son is going to Pre-K next year, so it is preparing him for a successful start!

Summer Bridge workbooks are designed to help children maintain and enhance scholastic skills over the summer break. Summer Bridge workbooks consist of daily activities in reading, writing, mathematics, and language arts with bonus activities in science and geography for grades Pre-K through 8th. It makes summer learning fun and easy with exciting daily activities, full-color flash cards, incentive contract calendars to keep kids motivated and, a certificate of completion. They are only completing a couple pages a day, so there is still plenty of time to ride bikes, go to the pool and visit friends.

I have seen these books at our local bookstore, so feel free to check there! Or you can order online at www.summerbridgeactivities.com. Each book is over 150 pages and costs around $14.95. I personally love the book for summer – and throughout the year. My kids love the activities and it keeps everything fresh as an ongoing learning experience. The hard thing is to get my 2.5 year old to stop after 1 lesson! He just wants to keep going!

In fact, the Summer Bridge Workbook is a great activity for hotel rooms, visiting relatives and long car rides. The Summer Bridge Activities Website is great too. It has lots of resources to take advantage off, such as games, physical/fitness fun, a reading room and parent resources.

Overall, if you want to ensure your child is prepared for the next school year, order a Summer Bridge Activities Workbook. It makes learning fun over the summer!

The 2010 Summer Bridge Activities workbook series offers an efficient, inexpensive solution for parents looking for help in supporting their children academically. The recommended two pages of workbook activities require just 15 minutes per day to help children keep their academic skills sharp and costs $14.95.
