Voskos Greek Yogurt #win – 5 winners

So my husband was showing me an article the other day about actor-comedian Drew Carey and his healthy weight loss. He has gone on a low-carb diet, eliminating a lot of carbs like pizza and bread. Instead he is eating healthier, natural low carb options like veggies, fruit and Greek Yogurt. He specifically said Greek Yogurt – not just yogurt. His diet has helped him lose 80 pounds! You can read his story here: Drew Carey’s Weight Loss

It got me to thinking, so what is so special about Greek Yogurt? Well – it turns out there is A LOT. I had the chance to try Voskos Greek Yogurt.

1. My first realization was how creamy it was, whether I tried regular, flavored, non-fat or low-fat – it was always thick and creamy! I loved the texture over regular yogurt.

2. Next I looked at nutritional facts, comparing it to a popular regular yogurt brand. Voskos Greek Yogurt had less than 1/2 the amount of carbs- even with a larger serving size. A 8 oz serving of Voskos Greek Yogurt has 15 grams of carbs, while the other yogurt brand (not Greek) had 33 grams of carbs in a 5 ounce serving! So Greek Yogurt  means Less Carbs. That’s great for people on a low-carb diet, like Drew.

3. People who are eat less carbs tend to eat more protein – great for building a lean body! Voskos Greek Yogurt has DOUBLE THE PROTEIN per serving, compared to other regular yogurt brands.

Now, Voskos Greek Yogurt was the first Greek Yogurt I’ve ever tried. Like many other yogurts, it has cultured and live probiotics to help with the prevention of colon cancer, lowers blood pressure, lowers cholestoral, manages lactose intolerance, improves immune function, prevents infections, reduces inflammation, improves mineral absorption, prevens harmful bacteria growth under stress, irritable bowel syndrome and colitis. Voskos Greek Yogurt is also made of hormone-free milk and is gluten free.

There are a lot of options for flavors and types. You will find original, fat free and low fat. There is also greek honey (my favorite), honey vanilla bean, wild blueberry (my sons’ favorite), exotic fig and wild strawberry. Sizes vary between single serving to 16 ounces. There were three different sizes. We kind of went through them so fast that I only have the 16 ounce containers left.

You can learn more about the health benefits of Greek Yogurt and where to buy Voskos Greek Yogurt at Voskos.com. There is even a section for Greek yogurt recipes, but I love my yogurt right out of the container!
