Injured by a Lego!
Did you know September was safety month? Now that you know, how about looking around your house to see how safe it is for your baby and toddler?
Some basic tips are having your outlets covered and blind cords cut or hanging out of reach. For active, mischievous toddlers (aren’t they all??) you will also want to check out Stove Guards, Edge Guards and Corner Guards. Even now my two year old could benefit from the Stove Guard, which is a poly-carbonate plastic that attaches to the front of the stove protecting your grabby toddler from hot pans and burners.
I have seen the Edge and Corner Guards in use at my friend’s house, who had a coffee table in the middle of her living room. If you have a wobbly walker, they could easily hit the edge of a table … or worse, a corner … and next thing you know you have an expensive ER visit and your toddler will need stitches. But the thick, cushiony foam from the Prince Lionheart Corner and Edge protectors can help prevent a serious accident.

Stove Guard
The Table Edge Guard comes with 12 feet of foam. It is non-toxic and Latex-free. All of the guards apply with double-stick tape and should remove easily. You can also get the Jumbo Edge Guard which has four 18″ sections. You just trim these edge guards to your desired lengths for tables, fireplaces ans other sharp edges.
You can find these safety edge and corner guards at Target and Babies R Us. Prices start at $7.99.
