I am actually quite fit … in my own humble opinion. The problem has always been that I am not much for cardio. I LOVE free weights at the gym. But, it really is a different type of exercise. And honestly, for well-rounded fitness and health I need to combine diet, weights and some cardio.
Some women find peace with running (like Mom.Wife.Fitness.Life), others play tennis (like TennisFixation) … I like ZUMBA! But even then, I only do it twice a week when my husband’s schedule permits me to get to a class on time. But I have this BodyMedia Armband on me that is taunting me. STEPS it says. YOU NEED MORE STEPS.
Okay, it doesn’t actually talk. What happens is I plug it in my computer at the end of the day and it does a cute little beep and with apprehension I see what my steps are. The days that I ZUMBA and take a family stroll ROCK. The days that I lounge by the pool with the kids … not as cool. And then I decide I will have to talk more steps the next day.
And that is what ROCKS about the BodyMedia Fit. Accountability. You input your diet for the day and wear the armband. In turn it tracks your steps, sleep and calories burned. You can see every day your progress and make changes that much quicker to improve your overall health. You can even track it more than once day by using the bluetooth on your SmartPhone, but I am finding that my iPhone is being stubborn and doesn’t want to recognize my BodyMedia Armband all the time. Jealous, I think.
So even this mama, who doesn’t like to move her feet as much as pump some iron, is finding ways to take more steps. Of course, I still do it my way. I’ve been playing a lot more XBOX Kinect on the days I don’t ZUMBA. My favorite games are Dance Masters and the new Michael Jackson: The Experience. And I do plan on getting the Kinect ZUMBA game for home – I’ve tried the DEMO and LOVE IT.
So the moral of my story. If you want someone to push you – the best person is yourself. You just need the tools to do it and the BodyMedia Fit Armband is a perfect way to get started.

GOOD,GOOD I just want to go out to dinner for Mother’s day so I don’t have to cook.
I like the idea of having something to help me stay motivated.
