So, the best way to get the most out of a device like the BodyMedia Fit armband is to wear it every day. You can wear it up to 23 hours at a time. At this point, I prefer to wear it from when I get up until bedtime. I have fun seeing it track my sleep every now and then … but I figure I am not burning too many calories or taking too many steps at that time. So I am trying just to just wear it at night a few times a week, but mostly letting my arm be armband free at those times.
That said, obviously when I am out and about a lot of people are seeing me (and asking questions) about the armband. You can read more about THAT here: “What’s That on your Arm?”
The BodyMedia Fit Armband is pretty low-key. It’s a light gray elastic armband with a small white square, surrounded by a shiny chrome. It has a blue button in the middle and a few small lights. But as a woman, you might want to dress it up a little. And the option is there.
I was visiting BodyMedia.com when I first got my armband and saw they had accessories! So I checked them out. For $13 you can change the arm strap from gray with a chrome to these other options:
- Gray Strap with Blue Chrome
- Black Strap with Black
- Gray Strap with Pink (My favorite!)
- Black Strap with Zebra (Also my favorite – I can have two favorites!)
And then you can also change the face of the “device” itself with skins! These are $5.95 each. There are over 100 desigs – and you can even create a CUSTOM one! I decided to list my top faves:
Just by owning a BodyMedia Fit armband, I am getting personalized feedback on my steps, sleep, diet and calories burned. I like that I can further personalize the armband to reflect my drive and personality.
