Beat the Chore War at Home – #Win a Free In-Home Cleaning

It’s probably happened to you at some point; the dreaded argument over trying to get your kids to help out with household chores. We all know bribing and bartering never leave lasting changes in habit, which is why CLR and parenting expert Dr. Michele Borba have worked together to provide real solutions.

On www.clrchorewars.com you can check out their survey to find your family’s cleaning alert level as well as tips and tactics to get your children involved in the household chores – without all the screaming. When you complete the survey, you are entered for a chance to win a monthly Gift Basket! I took the quiz myself and found out I have a red alert – disaster zone ahead. :yikes!:

Feed the Dog

So I figure I need some help. I started by checking out some of the ideas on the Chore Wars site. They have 8 easy tips to follow. One of them is to start by knowing your “Alert Level”. My other favorite tip is to Acknowledge Efforts.

I actually just started implementing my 5 year old’s first “chore”, which is to feed the dog. And after 1-month he get’s a dollar. He completed last month, so a dollar for his piggy. (Cheap Labor, right?! Hey – he’s five!)

So tell me – where are you regarding your children and chores. Do they help or no? What is your Alert Level? And what do you think of the chore tips at  www.clrchorewars.com?
