Entenmann’s Big Book of Baking from @Entenmanns

Sweet Tooth? Holiday Dessert Ideas? Get your Oven Mitts on Entenmann’s Big Book of Baking, just released this week. There are 140 mouth-watering recipes. Each recipe is a “spread’ over two pages. One page has the recipe and the accompanying page has a full-color photo.

Recipes are either made with Entenmann products or are inspired by Entenmann products. There are 10 sections, including:

Almost Home: My favorite section. The Almond Slices scream Christmas! The Yummy Rummy Fruit Parfait looks so DELISH for after dinner. And Cafe Caramel Tiramisu – so posh and sure to impress guests!

Donuts, Danish and Puffs: Simple Donuts, Jelly Donuts, Cream Eclairs – Mouth Watering ways to wake up in the morning.

Crumb Cakes: This is one of the smaller sections of the book. I love anything with sugary crumbs on top. The section starts strong with Cinnamon Crumb Cake. And for Fall you are going to want to read about the Pumpkin Crumb Cake – I bet that would be delish with a DD Pumpkin Iced Coffee. Mmmmm.

Muffins: They have “Muffin Favorites”, inspired by Entenmann products. Lemon Poppy Seeds, Blueberry Muffins and Double Chocolate Chip. Put those in a pretty basket and deliver it to a relative, friend or teacher for a sweet surprise.

Loaf Cakes: Loaf Cakes are so easy. Think Banana Bread – isn’t it easy to make? But now you have recipes for Lemon Loaf, one with Orange Glaze and a decadent Chocolate Chip Loaf Cake.

Brownie and Bars: There are a ton of Brownie Recipes in this section, but I really got into the Bars. I can’t wait to add Trail Mix Bars and Nutty Granola Bars to my son’s lunchbox. And my Brother-in-Law would love the Sticky Pecan Pie Bars. What a different twist on his favorite pie!

Cookies: Doing a Cookie Swap this holiday? It would be embarrassing if everyone brought Choco Chip Cookies. Why not check out this section to bring something different to the table. I bet Santa would love a mix of Midnight Cookies, Checkerboard Cookies and Banana Chocolate Cookies … and of course there is an excellent Choco Chip Cookie recipe in there too.

Pies: For the holidays, not too many people up north know about Sweet Potato Pie. It is BETTER than pumpkin pie, I swear. Want to try baking one this holiday – page 244 has a recipe for Candied Sweet Potato Pie. If you have to bring Pumpkin Pie to the table, than up the ante with the Spiced Pumpkin Pie on page 246. So crumbly on top with a mix of nuts, brown sugar and spice. Then there are other classics to make throughout the year, like Apple, Cherry, Pecan and a few chocolate options.

Indulgent Cakes and Desserts: INDULGENT. OMG! The first one pictured in this section is chocolate on chocolate on moist moist chocolate. Where can you go from there? They find away with cakes just dripping with whipped cream, chocolate frosting, and powdered sugar.

Party Cakes: Finally the party cakes. Cakes can be simple and fun and this section is dedicated to simple cakes adorned with gumdrops, jellybeans … and crystallized rose petals. For Halloween you’ll want the recipe on page 304 – the Chocolate Spider Cake.

This is the perfect book to keep in your kitchen this holiday season. Without a doubt, you’ll be using these recipes for:

1. Halloween Desserts

2. Bake Sales

3. Thanksgiving Desserts

4. Holiday Gifts for Friends, Teachers, Relatives

5. Christmas Desserts

6. Hostess Gifts

7. Cookie Swaps.

And hey, Entenmann’s Big Book of Baking is a fab gift idea for any baker in your family. Over 140 recipes focused on fresh ingredients and simple preparation. This is great for novice cooks, as well as women who know their way around a bundt pan.

WHERE TO BUY: The MSRP of this book is onyl $16.99. I found it on Amazon for $14.99, which is an insane deal. I was expecting it to cost $25+ with the awesome recipes and gorgeous photos.
