Are you heading out for some shopping on Black Friday? Truthfully, I’ve done the majority of my shopping already. I think you won’t necessarily find the best deals on the things you want on Black Friday. But it is a good time to pick up some fun movies, games and other “fillers”. And for some reason, that’s the day I go shopping for my husband’s gift.
I don’t just go aimlessly to the malls and most popular brick-and-mortar stores though. I scour the Black Friday ads in advance. A quick Google Search will lead you to Black Friday ads for most retailers. And many retailers are actually posting their Black Friday deals right on their site. After I check the ads online, I compare it to my shopping list and plan my shopping day.
So my Black Friday Tips at-a-glance are:
1. Realize the best deals for the best products may not be found on Black Friday. Wal-Mart actually is advertising Pre-Black Friday Savings now.
2. If you can’t find Black Friday deals on the website, do a quick Google Search for Black Friday ads of the store of your choice. That will let you plan your shopping day better.
3. Check out the online site of the store you plan to visit. Some have helpful tools, like on WalMart.com you can print out store maps to better plan the fastest route to killer deals! You can also access the map using the “My Local Walmart” application on Walmart’s Facebook page.
4. Shop by your list and by a budget. It’s not a deal if you don’t need it and no one wants it.
5. Look for stores that match competitor prices. Along with its full plate of Thanksgiving weekend specials, Walmart promises to match the price of any local competitor’s printed ad for an identical product, including matching competitor’s deals for the day after Thanksgiving.
