Around this time of year, some people start questioning the magic of Santa. So what do you do if someone tells your child (untruthfully) that Santa is not real? :gasp: Well, tell them the truth. I know it might catch you off guard when that day happens, so I am supplying my favorite answers below to help you out.
1. Santa can only visit homes that believe in Santa. That is how his magic works.
2. Santa doesn’t visit people on the naughty list – and you are a good :insert appropriate gender here:
3. Of course Santa is real! How can parents do everything all in one night?
4. Santa is real. He inspires us all with his magic and the spirit of giving.

We do Santa but even when my kids are old enough to know there isn’t a real Santa, I want them to understand that the spirit of Santa IS real.
I remember one Christmas when my parents bought me a TV, VCR, and a bunch of other things, I told them I knew Santa was real because they didn’t have them money for those things. LOL
Ha ha! That’s too cute!
I did the same thing as a child! My mom tells the story that I came home saying a child said Santa wasn’t real, but I said he was because my mom and dad wouldn’t buy me all those toys.

I love these ideas! I don’t have any good suggestions to add because I don’t have kids and when I was little, I never questioned Santa – by the time I actually questioned it and asked, I was old enough to be told the truth, LOL!
My 12 year old son knows the truth but still “believes” He has a lil sis and brother. My seven year old is starting to wonder. My 12 year old never came out and asked. We were just talking one day in private and he said he just kind of figured it out buy watching Polar Express. LOL!!! I love it, the magic and all. I still hear the jingle bell, don’t you?
You bet I do! LOL. We went on a Polar Express ride at SeaWorld last night and was thinking that same thing I still hear the jingle even if some friends and family don’t anymore.

I totally agree with he only visits those who believe. I like to do whatever I can, getting different wrapping paper for “Santa-specific” presents, letters from Santa, etc. Anything to keep those little minds full of imagination is a-ok with me
This and the tooth fairy are such tough questions. We want to keep our children young and sweet but then we get put in the position of how to answer this question. He visits the homes that believe is a good answer.
I stuck with family tradition on this one and shared the magic of Santa with my children. My youngest figured out several years ago that Santa is really Mom. Now he insists on calling me Santa! Somehow this has rolled over to me representing Santa online at http://bizabacus.com/santa. If you happen to stop by, feel free to leave your wish list.
