I’ve been meaning to try ThredUp for over a year. ThredUp is pretty much a children’s consignment store, but you can shop from the convenience of at-home. They only accept “Like New” to completely new items that are in-style and clean, so it’s not like you are virtually digging through thousands of clothes that few people would want.
You can find some real steals for clothes still NWT (New with Tags)! And name brands! You’ll find GAP, Gymboree, Mini Boden, Ralph Lauren and much more at up to 75% off retail prices!
I highly suggest checking them out for seasonal clothes. For example, in Florida we don’t have a huge need for very warm clothes. But I am going to be seeing snow this December up north and needed some snow suits. So I bought a snow suit for one of my sons for just $2.99. Condition upon arrival was AWESOME.
It’s also great for purchasing school uniforms. Rather than paying exorbitant prices for something the kids wear for under a year, you can buy like new slacks and shorts from ThredUp. I bought a pair of navy Covington slacks for just $5.49.
They also have cute and simple styles for boys and girls. For example, I found a neat long sleeve dinosaur shirt that glows in the dark – something my youngest would love. Bought it for just $2.99. And I got a solid long sleeve red shirt for my oldest, perfect for wearing alone or layering in the crazy Florida winter. It was also just $2.99. Finally, for kicks-and-giggles I bought a Harry Potter shirt for $4.49, because Gryffindor rocks.
That is five items for $18.95, plus shipping. But right now if you order $30 or more, shipping is free. (Shipping promotions are subject to change.) And you can also get a $5 credit per friend that signs up because of you, after their first purchase. So share the buzz and earn! You an also earn credits by sending in clothes your kids have outgrown. You have to order the bag for $4.95. Fill it up. Send it back and you get your $4.95 back. I haven’t tried that YET because I give all my boys’ clothes to my godson.
I want to say my order arrived quickly, but I was actually out of town for a week. It arrived when I was gone, but that was still within 5 days. And it was nicely packaged in tissue paper in a box. Very nice and clean, with no consignment shop smell. (You know what I am talking about!)
Overall, I am super excited with ThredUp. I will use them again – I still have my eye out for another snowsuit for my other son! Be sure to check back often because the items available are always changing and being updated!
Try them yourself! Visit ThredUp to get started. And if you want an invite and $5 off your next order, just let me know in a comment below. I’ll check back periodically to send out those invites with the $5 off deal.
