New 2014 #Mitsubishi Outlander with 7 Passenger Seating

A lot of my local mom friends are in the market for a new car. Heck, even my husband and I enjoy looking at the new vehicles as they roll out, trying to see what his next vehicle will be. The thing is, parents usually have specific needs … with a few wants thrown in … when searching for their new car. We want safety, room, good mileage, a few perks and an attractive exterior design!

Well, Mitsubishi just revealed the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander late last month at the LA Auto Show, featuring a fresh new design that emphasizes exterior aerodynamic efficiency. The all-new 2014 Outlander will give parents room, with standard 7-passenger seating. yet, they will be one of the most fuel-efficient compact CUVs on the market. Safety features include Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control systems.

Of course, there are a variety of options. For example, my husband and I both drive Limited vehicles, which include additional features to their standard counterparts. Upgrades are available in the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, too. There is the Premium Package and Touring Package available for SE and GT models.

  • The Premium Package adds a Panoramic glass sunroof, Leather seating surfaces, Power driver’s seat, Remote power tailgate, 710-watt Rockford-Fosgate® premium audio system with DTS Neutral Surround, PremiDIA® Surround and Dolby Volume features with 9 speakers including 10-inch subwoofer (includes wood grain appearance trim and SiriusXM™ satellite radio on SE model).
  • The Touring Package adds a 7-inch touch panel navigation system with real-time traffic, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system,  Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) system and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system.

Although I believe you should never choose a car on the exterior color when choosing off the lot, I will say it comes in 6 colors – Cool Silver Metallic, Cosmic Blue Mica, Mercury Gray Metallic, Copper Metallic, Diamond White Pearl or Labrador Black Mica.

From experience driving a 7-passenger vehicle, when looking at the Mitsubishi Outlander on the lot, consider test-driving one with:

  • Rear View Camera (available in the SE)
  • Heated Front Seats (available in the SE, and nice even in Florida!)
  • Handsfree system with USB/iPod port (available in the SE)
  • Panoramic Glass Sunroof (available in the Premium Package, it really “opens up” a vehicle)
  • Navigation system (available in the Touring package)
  • Individual television/ DVD players in the headsets for those in the backseat

Those are my favorite features on my car, so I want others to enjoy them, as well! But even the standard features are noteworthy, with features like 3rd row fold-flat seating and an anti-theft engine immobilizer.

Some people, like my husband, like full specs on vehicles. If you want that at-a-glance, check this out:
