kidconnectOne especially unique feature is the Kid Connect communication app. Not every parent might consider purchasing this upgraded app, since there is a small fee. But the benefits are huge! VTech Kid Connect is a unique, ground-breaking app for the InnoTab 3S that brings families together and helps parents stay connected to their kids when apart – anytime, anywhere!

So let’s go over what you can do with Kid Connect.

1. One very fun feature is the voicemail. Your child can use their own voice, a robot voice or a mouse voice to send their voicemail! You don’t receive it over your normal voicemail, but in the Kid Connect app on your own phone. You can send voicemail back to your child in the same app.

2. Texting is the one portion that was included, even without the Premium option. They type and can add fun emoticons. Once again, you receive it in the Kid Connect app on your own tablet or phone.

3. They can also send “stickers“, which are just fun smiley graphics, kisses, hearts etc. There are lots for them to choose from!

4. Kids can also send photos or drawings from their album or they can take a “new photo”, just like most smart phones do!

5. Finally, kids can draw on a drawing pad and send that to their parents through Kid Connect.

I like the voicemail and texting portions of Kid Connect Premium the most. That’s because it’s a quick way to keep communicating with my child when they are at grandma’s and I am out with my husband. This is very useful when you also just leave them with a babysitter, not family. So your child can keep you up-to-date on what’s going on and you can feel more secure that everything is a-ok.

If your child is just learning to spell and communicate, they will find the emoticons and stickers are a way to communicate with mom, dad or even their cousins and grandparents! Once they learn to type more fluently, the texting will become more popular. And remember, you are COMPLETELY IN CONTROL over who they can communicate with through the parental controls. My son ONLY communicates with me via the InnoTab 3s.

Kid Connect premium lets you and your child stay connected for fun, safety and peace of mind. I’d definitely consider adding the app to your child’s InnoTab 3S and your own phone. (The app is free for Smartphones and adult tablets. You only pay $14.99 for the app on the InnoTab 3S. )

Buzzworthy: The Premium Kid Connect app is available as a paid download through VTech’s Learning Lodge™ app store. It is part of the Deluxe Apps Package, which also includes the Movie Maker app, a fun and exciting stop-motion animation app that lets kids become movie directors. The Deluxe Apps Package is a $19.99 value, available now for $14.99.

NOTES FROM THEMOMBUZZ: If your child is receiving the InnoTab 3S as a birthday gift or holiday gift, don’t discard the box without checking it thoroughly. The accessories are packaged tightly and securely within the box. They would be easy to easily miss in unwrapping frenzy. Thoroughly undo all boxes and feel inside before discarding.
