Snuggle Bunny by Angie Hicks is a series of four interactive children’s board books. Each book is ten pages long and has beautiful illustrations to accompany a simple yet educational story for children age one through three. My daughter loves books and like any kid she will point at random pictures that she sees. What makes these books so great is that on one page you read the story and on the other page there are items pertaining to that portion of the story along with pictures for each of the words.
Here is a little summary of each of the books.
- Snuggle Bunny: Time for Bed tells the story of bedtime and the routine of getting ready for bed. It lists several items that a child would use as he or she is getting ready for bedtime.
- Snuggle Bunny: A Special Day Out teaches your child several different words that he or she would use on a trip to the beach.
- Snuggle Bunny: Let’s Get Dressed is all about getting dressed and ready for the day.
- Snuggle Bunny: Dinner Time tells the story of eating dinner and is a great tool for teaching children about all the different utensils and objects surrounding dinner time.
My daughter has really been enjoying these books; pointing at pictures and having me tell her the words. She is about to turn one and as she gets older, the interactive questions in these books will be a great teaching tool for me. The one thing to keep in mind is that the author is British so there are some words being used that we are not familiar with here, or at least do not use. Overall, we really enjoy these books because they can really grow with the child.
