When I was in my older teens, I remember Tamagotchi being a HOT toy. I wanted one, but never did get one. Well, now they are back and are perfect for older children and ‘tweens.
Tamagotchi come in a digital egg. On the screen they will hatch and grow differently, depending on how well your child takes care of it. Once hatched, your child will feed it when it gets hungry, give it medicine when it is sick, potty train it, bathe it and play games to earn Gotchi points. I love that this is all done in a small device that can be held in your child’s hands – no extra parts!
New to Tamagotchi is the ability to bump it with OTHER Tamagotchi friends to send text messages, gifts and even go on playdates. The more bumps, the more points and rewards your child will earn, increasing the Best Friend meter. Points are then used to buy virtual meals, snacks and jewelry.
Tamagatchi Friends are suggested for ages 6 – 10 and have an MSRP of $19.99.
