What Are You Packing for National Pack Your Lunch Day?

Today is National Pack Your Lunch Day! As a Work-at-Home Mom, I don’t have to worry about packing my own lunch too often. But I did pack two lunches for my kids today! Actually, I pack them lunches pretty much every day. They just prefer it over hot lunch at school – and I don’t blame them! I HATED hot lunch when I went to school. Some days I would completely skip lunch and just eat when I got home. So from 7 am – 3pm, there was no food in my belly! Well, I won’t let my kids do that. I pack them foods we both approve of.

Different lunch boxes lend themselves to different food. My youngest is a yogurt nut. That’s pretty much ALL he wants to eat. So I have to make sure his lunchbox stays fool and that it is the right size and shape for all the varieties of yogurt I stick in there.

My oldest wants a good mix of traditional kid favorites, healthy snacks and a little something sweet. The PlanetBox lunch box is perfect for him. Planet Box is a stainless steel lunch box that is a hybrid design that resembles a mash-up of a bento box and TV dinner tray. Its segmented tray and containers make packing a well-balanced meal quick and easy, highlighting delicious food, and reducing or eliminated food and packaging waste.

PlanetBox has three different lunch packing systems – the Launch, Rover and Shuttle. I would eventually like to own all three, but I started with the Rover. The Rover has 5 built-in compartments and the plus version includes two dipper sets with lids. Utensils are also included. You can order it with our without the carry bag to hold the bento-style box.

Here is what I packed my son for today!

  • Cute Peanut Butter Sandwiches.
  • Apple Slices
  • Carrot Sticks
  • Popcorn
