Earth Day is EXTRA GREEN with Entenmann’s #EarthDay #TerraCycle #Sweepstakes

TheMomBuzz received an Entenmann’s Prize Pack and one to give-away.
In just two more days it will be Earth Day! What are you doing to be a little more “green”?
For us, it’s the little things. For example, we use linen napkins instead of paper towels and paper napkins. We are also a fan of LunchSkins reusable baggies, instead of plastic baggies for snacks and food. If I can walk or run somewhere, I will, instead of wasting precious (expensive) gas. I also love TerraCycle goodies.
caprisun2Have you heard about Terracycle? What you do is collect drink pouches, ziploc bags, cookie wrappers, candy wrappers (see the whole collectable list here) . For every approved wrapper you get points that can be redeemed for a variety of charitable gifts, or for a payment of $0.01 per point to the non-profit organization or school of your choice. The items you send get turned into fences, coolers, totes, binders, backpacks and more. And you can BUY these cool goodies online or at retail stores, like the Home Depot or Wal-Mart. We currently own a Capri Sun TerraCycle Tote and 2 pencil cases! I LOVED THEM and they last a long time!
Well, it turns out that one of my children’s favorite brands, Entenmann’s, is part of the TerraCycle program. They are also making sure that Earth Day is extra green and partnering with The Arbor Day Foundation. As a result of their efforts, they are hosting a sweepstakes on Facebook and helping plant up to 25,000 trees in needed forests. Why is this AWESOME?
  • Little Bites Tote 2015 highresTrees help clean the air!  They improve the quality of the air we breathe by capturing dust and pollution particles that can affect our health.  Global forests removed about one third of fossil fuel emissions annually from 1990 to 2007.
  • Trees help fight climate change. As trees grow, they remove greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide from the air, store carbon, and release pure oxygen into the atmosphere. In one year an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 produced by a car driven 26,000  miles.
  • Trees planted along waterways can help filter out chemicals that might otherwise wash to our water sources. They also can create stable soil and help prevent soil erosion, flooding and even landslides!
  • Trees properly planted around a home can help lower air conditioning and heating costs by up to 25%! Carefully placed shade trees  — planted to the west, east or northwest of a house — can save that household’s energy needs for cooling during the warm weather months. (The overall cooing effect of a healthy, mature tree is equivalent to TEN room-sized air conditioners operating 20 hours a day!) When these same trees loose their leaves in the winter, they also allow the sun to reach and warm the house, saving energy for heating as well.

So how can you join in on the fun? Well, for every entry into the Entenmann’s Sweepstakes, they will donate $1 to The Arbor Day Foundation! And there are all sorts of fun prizes, like Free Little Bites (these tiny muffins which come in so many delicious flavors) and other Earth Friendly Prizes! The sweepstakes ends 4.30.15, so enter today!

LittleBitesBoxTheMomBuzz is also hosting a little give-away in recognition of Earth Day, thanks to Entenmann’s! This give-away begins 4.20.15 and ends 4.30.15. The prize is coupons for four FREE Entenmann’s Little Bites and a Little Bites Terracycle Tote. This is completely adorable, with the Little Bites puppy on it!

If I could suggest some flavors to try for Little Bites, my youngest likes the Chocolate Brownie and the Chocolate Chip. My oldest likes the Blueberry Muffin and the Strawberry Muffins. Five Packs per Box, four mini muffins per pack.

The prize pack of the free product coupons and the tote is a value of $35! So enter and GOOD LUCK!
