Many LEGO fans are Star Wars fans, and vice versa, as well. So for a win-win, pick up the Coffee Table Book, LEGO Star Wars: Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy.
LEGO Star Wars: Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy is full of scenes of classic Star Wars re-imagined with LEGO sets and minifigures. It is full-color photography that utilizes characters that are series favorites. You will also see new takes on the classic scenes with the figures. There is huge family appeal, with the scenes becoming works of art the entire family (and visiting friends) would enjoy.
Our family is an ideal target audience for this book. After reviewing the pages, I was captured and intrigued as it reminded me of the humor in newly released Lego cartoons, games and comic strips. Not only did I enjoy the book, but each scene inspires me to try and produce or recreate my own photographs and scenes from the movie using the other LEGO sets that are in my house.
At 176 pages, the book covers Tatooine, Hoth, Endor and a behind the scenes look at how Photographer Vesa developed the scenes and took the photographs. Some of the set ups and techniques are quite simple.People coulld learn from Vesa, who sometimes utilized a strict plan with sketches, and other times just went along with a vague idea.
The author, Vesa Lehtimaki, has been a Star Wars fan since he was a child in his native Finland. His book is for us older Star Wars fans, along with those who will be newly introduced into the world thanks to Episode VII – The Force Awakens. Vesa began by photographing his sons Lego sets, which developed an online following online. That led to his work with the Lego Group. Imagine where your inspiration can lead you!
