Early March 2016, Astronaut Scott Kelly returned to Earth after 340 days in space. Scott was the first American astronaut to spend a year in space and his investigations will help with deep space exploration and America’s Journey to Mars. Just imagine what our future may hold thanks to his daring! What might be hard for us to envision can be easy for children, especially with PLAYMOBIL’s SPACE MISSION themed sets.

When choosing a set for review, I felt that the Space Shuttle was the way to start this world off for my son. It comes with a Space Shuttle and two figures. Some assembly was required to put together the Space Shuttle, the wheels being the hardest part to pop in. Once completed, though, my son started taking his adventures everywhere. All the of the accessories fit into the Space Shuttle. The wheels are working wheels, so he will roll the Space Shuttle around the ground. I also like that it came with two figures, so immediately he and his brother could play together.
From there I would purchase the other two sets to build up the possible story lines, although it isn’t necessary when an 8 year old’s imagination is infinite – just like space!
