There is a massive 20% off hair color promotion running at 1,200 neighborhood salons throughout the US and Canada from now until June 15th –so get your summer look now, before the deal runs out.

GET BOLD SUMMER COLOR
Normally I do a simple dark brown or black. But this summer stylists are saturating the season with a bold, bright look that screams fun in the sun. Update your look with a brand new hue and remember to save 20% off your color service! Some 2012 hair trends to consider:

A few well-placed streaks of color that contrast with your hair color. I love purple for dark hair and pink for light hair.

Go ombre with darker near the roots and lighter at the ends. For example, I could go from ebony on top to a glossy light brown on the bottom. Blondes can try sun-kissed ends and medium-blonde lowlights.

Multi-hued is hot, adding definition to your style with 2 or 3 colored hues featured in your hair. You can stick to hues that blend in or opt for the bold trend by trying unique hues of reds, blues, and violet in your hair.

The color this summer season isn’t blonde or over the top highlights. The word on the runway is that coppers, auburns and chestnut browns will have plenty of fun this summer.

Finally, Pinterest is full of rainbow-inspired dip-dyed multi-lights. Try it out on summer vacation to let your wild side loose!

SHARE THE SAVINGS! Tweet the deal to friends, family and followers!

Ready 4 a new look this season? Get 20% off summer color @ ur choice of 9 hair salon brands! bit.ly/Kt8B36

I love Energizer! Not only is it the battery I turn to most to power my kid’s toys and our emergency flashlight, but they are always coming up with programs to give back to important environmental and social groups AND their customers. Right now they have an Energizer Utility Cash program going on – just look for specially marked packs of batteries to take part.

With the Energizer Utility Cash program, you collect codes from select Energizer battery and lighting products and redeem them online for savings, up to $25 total savings each per person/household/email address, off your own utility bill. You start earning rewards with just two codes and will need 10 codes total to earn the full $25. Or you can help make a positive impact and choose to turn the codes into a donation to Habitat for Humanity®.

You see, Energizer has partnered with Habitat for Humanity® and is working with baseball legend Cal Ripken, Jr. to donate more than $300,000 and 1,000 volunteer hours to Habitat through a multi-city series of volunteer projects to help build new homes and revitalize existing homes for those in need.

Whether you use the codes to lower your own utility bill or decide to donate them to Habitat for Humanity, you still need to take advantage of these battery packs.

Here’s how it works:

Collect your codes.

Once you are finished collecting your codes, visit www.nowthatspositivenergy.com/utilities to enter your codes.

You must enter your codes all at once.

The last day to redeem codes is 3/31/13 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

One reader will win two packs of specially marked Energizer batteries. Roughly a $10 MSRP.

Over Mother’s Day weekend my mom and I were talking about cell phones and cell phone packages. I definitely miss the days of “cheap” phones and affordable packages. I pay 4x the amount on my monthly charge compared to a decade ago thanks to smart phones and the requisite data plan. If you want to use your phone for more than basic e-mailing and texting, it seems most people are forced to pay a week’s worth of groceries! But just like using coupons when grocery shopping, it’s worth looking for online vouchers to help save on cell phones and monthly bills.

I recently learned some tips to keep your bandwidth usage lower, so you don’t have to go to a higher data usage plan. For example:

1. Update your apps when you are using WiFi, not the 3G or 4G network.

2. I heard there is a free iPhone and Android app called Onavo Extend which make your data usage up to five times more efficient. It compresses your data by routing it through Onavo’s servers and stripping out the extras.

3. Addicted to e-mail? I know I am. But they suggest turning off the “push” options on e-mail. If you only check when on WiFi, you’ll lower your data consumption. And even if you check while on the network, not using push will still save data usage AND battery life since it isn’t constantly looking for e-mail updates.

4. In fact, turn off all push notifications to save data usage.

5. Try using mobile websites. I used to find them annoying, since they weren’t the “same” layout that I am used to on a computer. But they save on data usage. Now, most sites are pretty good about redirecting you to mobile versions. But if not, try tagging an “m.” to the beginning of a website name. Not all sites have a mobile version, but I am sure more will make the switch to keep us viewing their sites on the go!

6. Also, remember those online vouchers! I was looking through CouponSnapshot for savings inspiration and found lots options to save. You can get save on phone accessories, cell phones and even your cell phone bill. For US based readers, you’ll be interested in CouponSnapshot’s deals from T-Mobile. For international readers, you may be more interested in orange vouchers. Just type in “cell phones” at CouponSnapshot to see how you can save!

Where are you shopping for your Mother’s Day gifts? Online or an actual brick-and-mortar store? And are you thinking about going the flower route or more along the lines of jewelry, fashion apparel, fragrances, hand bags, etc? There are plenty of department stores that can help you with the latter – and even if you choose to go to an upscale department store, you aren’t stuck paying crazy prizes with the help of online coupons.

For example, over here we have a fantastic store called NordStroms, very high-end. They sell all of the items I mentioned above plus fashion accessories, cosmetics, and even home furnishings. When shopping at their stores, many NordStroms will keep you their with their eBar, in-House Cafe or even restaurants – depending on the size of the store.

And even though their prices tend to be above what I would normally pay, they do have “deals” if you know what to look for. For example, they have a Fashion Rewards Program, where you earn points for every dollar spent. Nordtroms also offers free shipping and returns every day all the time without a minimum purchase. Finally, you have to keep an eye on those online coupons – yes, you can even find them for upscale shopping! And there is no shame in using them! Who says you have to go poor to give a great gift?

I love checking out Nordstrom online. Especially now, when they are featuring their haute summer dress guide! This guide will make sure you look your best in the summer heat, from brunch to evening soirees! And of course, they have the complementing accessories to go with all of those dresses – heels, handbags and scarves – oh my! And all of these fashions and accessories make wonderful gift ideas!

For example, a ‘Candy Coated’ Tote by Steve Madden (item #283097) for $98! Or a Fossil Ladies’ Crystal Resin Watch for $98 (item #295975). And I love these Josie ‘Indo Stripe’ Pajamas for $88 (item #515765). And there are plenty of other fabulous Mother’s Day ideas online and at the store.

Just remember to look for your NordStrom coupons when you shop! Maybe you’ll even save enough to buy yourself a fabulous Michael Kors Reversible Belt – I love that Python Print! (item #513921, $42).

It seems like you can always find some fabulous deals at Sears. Especially if you are already have your eye on deals for spring and summer clothes for the kids. Personally, I am on the look out for athletic shorts and sleeveless shirts for my boys to keep them cool and comfortable in the growing heat. Normally I shop at Target or Children’s Place, but lately I have been keeping an eye out for deals and that’s where Sears promo codes come in!

I can save up to 50% when shopping at Sears thanks to daily deals, special savings and special offers. From decking out your patio to grill for guests to apparel for the whole family, Sears easily covers most of your needs. And their clothes are cute! Like I said, first I was looking for summer clothes for the boys. I found casual jersey shorts for just $9.97 each and, even better, pull-on paid shorts for just $7.97 each!

For tops I found these youth muscle shirts in a variety of options. I might just pick up all four – two for each of my boys. And these shirts are just $7.97 each!

For me, I am in love with these Maxi Dresses. They are only $29! That is a fraction of the price I’ve seen at other stores. I am ready to place my order, if I can only decide on a pattern. I might go for the all black one. :swoon: Perfect for day or night, from strolling on the beach to nighttime functions. It’s a perfect Florida summer dress!

And even though I don’t have a girl, I found these cute capris that were too cool not to share if you are shopping for a girl 7 or younger. They are only $13.99! I wish they had these in my size.

So those are some of my top picks for summer wear for moms and their kids! You can always find deals at Sears. And you can find super deals for many of your favorite stores, like Sears, at CouponSnapshot. For Canadian readers, visit CouponShapshot.ca. American readers will want to visit the .com site!

It seems like I’ve been writing about staycations ever since the beginning of theMomBuzz, 4 years ago. But as long as we are in a recession – gas prices up, economy down – we have to do what we can to pinch our pennies. But aren’t you TIRED of not being able to do much or go anywhere? So if you decided to have a little more fun this summer, do it without breaking the bank. Discount codes are your “friends” – and you can find up-to-date codes and savings for you to enjoy here: promo codes 2012.

Summer screams Bathing Suits, Towels, Beach Totes, Flip Flops, Umbrellas, and Sunglasses. And you can save with promo codes from Old Navy, Target, and Amazon – just to name a few of my favorite retailers!

And when it comes to PLANNING your trip, look for their Bookit promo code. Where do you want to go, when do you wnat to get there, what do you need for traveling and where are you going to stay? Like many online travel companies, Bookit can help save you money as you book a hotel, flight and rental car through them. They offer deeply discounted travel arrangements and can really save you money, so that you won’t mind buying a few tacky souvenirs for yourself and the kids.

Bookit lets you plan by Destination (ie: Caribbean, Mexico, Florida) or Travel Theme (ie: Disney Vacation, Islands and Beaches, Ski Travel). And I love that you can even see what activities you can book at different destinations. For example, we always spend time in Ormond Beach and St. Augustine during the summer. But we end up doing the same thing year-after-year. With Bookit, I am able to see what “hidden” activities I might be missing out on – like Kayaking in Ponce Inlet or riding the Banana Boat.

So what are you summer plans? Staying close to your backyard or venturing out in the world to make some summer memories?

And remember, with PromoCodes2012 you can save even more on your vacation with a Bookit promo code. I see codes for $10 off, $15 off, $25 off, and depending on where you stay – 50% – 65% off. It’s definitely worth looking into!

Have you given any thoughts to what you’ll be giving the moms in your life … or what you want for yourself? Or have you been scouring the web for online vouchers to help save?

Every year I say the same thing. I personally don’t need anything expensive. For Mother’s Day I just want to celebrate being a mom. Photo albums, frames, or a fun activity with the children make me happy. I love going to the beach with them, so something like a picnic lunch at the beach would be fabulous. (And a great excuse to buy a new bathing suit!)

For my Mother-in-Law, my husband is taking her to a show at the Tampa Bay Forum. When it comes to deciding on a gift for my mom and my husband’s grandmother ….I am a little stuck. But going back to Mother’s Day not having to break the bank, it useful to check out savings to be had at popular retailers like Pottery Barn, Yankee Candle and flower companies with online vouchers.

Mother’s Day Vouchers inspire gift ideas and you can get more for your money. For example, I like photo gifts. And on CouponSnapshot.com I found that you can get special iPhoto Print Products from just $5.49 at an Apple Store! And if you like getting and receiving flowers, there are so many specials for roses, lilies and more!

After checking out these deals, I think I am definitely leaning towards the iPhoto Print Products, though. I can do a photobook for my mom and a custom calendar for my grandmother-in-law, where each month will be a new photo from the years before. And I can also create complementing letter press cards for everyone.

So now is the time to share! Who are you shopping for this Mother’s Day? What gift ideas do you have in mind for them? And are you planning on using Mother’s Day Vouchers to shop?

Spring is here! Time to start planting beautiful butterfly gardens and sweet-scented flowers! Last year I used Miracle-Gro’s Mini Greenhouse to plant and grow small plants with the children. But this year we are looking forward to doing some planting on a larger scale with Miracle-Gro’s Expand ‘n Gro™ Concentrated Planting Mix.

Our Florida Soil is really just … dirt. Great for weeds, not so good for some of the flowering plants, shrubs and trees I love. And I really wanted to re-landscape the front of our house for a more attractive prescence in the neighborhood. The Expand ‘n Gro will actually improve the soil for YEARS! That’s because Expand ‘n Gro uses all natural coconut coir, which is up to 40% lighter and creates up to 90% more air space. Tilling this planting mix into your yard’s soil can reduce the soil’s bulk density, enhancing its ability to hold water, distribute moisture, drainage and give plants a better rooting environment.

There is also Miracle-Gro Plant Food in the mix, which will feed your plants for up to 6 months. That will feed your plants throughout Spring, all the way to Summer! And now when I plant my choice of flowers, they will bloom a-plenty and be full – not look like just another Florida weed!

And then it’s just cool how the Expand ‘n Gro Concentrated Planting Mix grows! I experienced this on a smaller scale with our Miracle-Gro Mini Green House. You have what looks like not enough mix, but add water and it increases its size exponentially. This expandibility makes their Expand ‘n Grow nice, lightweight and compact when it’s in the bag. Easy to store and carry! But mix with water and it will expand up to 3x it’s size! Perfect for planting! Look at it in action below:
