I tried typical laptop bags, but they actually didn’t have enough room. And my old briefcase was just too stodgy. But then I received the Organizing Utility Tote from Thirty-One Gifts. It was perfect!

First off, it’s just ROOMY! It’s 10.25″ H x 15.5″ W x 6.5″ D. The height gives enough clearance so that my planner and laptop are safely IN the bag, not peeking out. The width is wide enough to handle my 12″ laptop and 9″ planner. And the depth is deep enough to fit all my items securely. It has two mesh pockets along the sides, so I can stick in a phone, Flip or other devices. And there are 5 pockets in all, 3 on the front and two on the back. This is where I store little papers, business cards and writing utensils. Everything is within easy reach and slides out easily when I want it.

There isn’t padding, but I’m not exactly throwing my tote around. It has two 12″ drop handles, so I can easily fit it over my shoulder when walking. The handles are further secured to the bag with grommets.

My bag has the chic Black Parisian Pop pattern. Love it. Another stylish option is the Black Paisley Parade. If you are more of a floral person, there are several of flower patterns – Awesome Blossom, Harvest Floral, and Windsor Bouquet. Playful patterns include Aqua Circle Spirals and Circle Spirals. Dots your thing – then look for Lotsa Dots and Pin Dots. Finally, there is the subdued and simple Black.

I use mine for work. But I can easily see the bag holding it’s own as a personal beach tote or doing it’s duty as a diaper bag. And you can have a name embroidered on it in various colors and styles.

We’ve been using a simple Lightening McQueen Umbrella Stroller, but it has no “perks”. It’s just a simple stroller that has started to sag underneath his 36 pound body. So we were introduced to Baby Cargo 200 Series Lightweight Umbrella Stroller to give it our thoughts!

Baby Cargo 200 Series Umbrella Stroller Review

We’ve been using the Baby Cargo 200 for 1 month now. Our first trip with it was to the zoo for their holiday event. It gave the boys a chance to sit when they got tired, and allowed us to stick with the group since we also went with my sister and her older kids. It also gave us a real chance to compare it to a lower-end umbrella stroller.

Storage: One of the first things I have to chat about is the ability to store goodies, both underneath the stroller in the basket, as well as with a small pocket on the back of the seat. So I was able to keep larger items, like extra coats and and scarves, underneath the stroller. While I used the small basket to hang on to small knick-knacks the kids were winning at the holiday event. This smaller pocket can also be buttoned with snap buttons for security.

Shade: The Canopy sits higher, so it wouldn’t land on my son’s head when I opened it. Our other umbrella stroller we can’t put down the flat canopy, because it lands on his head. The canopy on the Baby Cargo 200 also has a “viewing window”, so you don’t have to pull it back to see what your child is doing.

Accessories: It came with a cup holder and a rain cover, which is tucked into the basket area when not in use.There is also a shoulder strap, so you can carry the lightweight stroller easily.

Leg Rest: It has a unique, adjustable leg rest. You can keep it high for little ones or lower for toddlers and preschoolers. It is a little tricky for me to adjust the leg rest, I usually end up getting down to look at the shifting buttons to make sure I am totally unlocked so I can move the leg rest where I want.

Multi-position Back Rest: The back rest also is adjustable, pretty much however you want it. It does not fully recline in a flat position, but it does recline far enough to be comfortable for a baby.

Fabric: The fabric is soft, cool and seems easy to clean.

Safety: The Baby Cargo 200 has a 5-point harness to keep a baby safely in the stroller. For my preschooler, I simply tuck the seatbelt back so he can go in and out of the stroller easily when I walk around the zoo, mall, etc.

Comfort: My husband is more comfortable using the Baby Cargo than our other stroller, because the handles sit higher. You can grab the handles comfortable between 41″ – 44″.

Who can fit in the Baby Cargo 200? The baby can be used from birth on up. It sits my 36 pound child easily, still offering him a smooth ride. I estimate that it can be used up to 40 – 50 pounds.

Dimensions and Weight: The stroller is “lightweight”, weighing just 13.7 pounds. It folds pretty “tight”, folded dimensions are 42″ x 12″ x 10″.

COLORS: I have a stain-hiding Ocean/Stone color combination. Most of the outside color (facing the world) is a dark blue, while the inner side (facing the child) is stone colored. Other colors include a gorgeous Pomegranate/Cherry Combo (my favorite) and Smoke/Mirror – which is a beige-like color combo.

Y’all know I love finding cute, inexpensive things to share. It’s been a while since anything has struck my fancy the way Zippies do. Zippies are circular, flexible ID tags that you can hang on water bottles, book bags, luggage, strollers and more. What makes these special are their cute faces, which resemble tigers, bunnies, walruses, sharks or are almost too unique to really say WHAT it is – so you and your kids can use your imagination.

The front of the tag is made of this soft, colorful plastic that just screams cute and cool. While the back has room for you to write a name and number in permanent marker. There is a special clip on it that let’s you attach it to various common water bottles. And you can also clip it to almost any carry bag.

I love it because not only is it a clever, stand-out from the crowd tag. But it just has so many uses that it’s a great excuse to buy the whole series. (Yes, there is a series, so expect a new wave of collectible faces from Zippies!) Here are the uses I thought of:

1. SCHOOL: Book bags and lunch bags can be easily identified.

2. VACATIONS: Clip it to luggage, camera bags, diaper bags and purses – you never know when a bag might be lost in a rush.

3. THEME PARKS: Clip it to your kids’ pants. If they get separated, a park employee can call your cell phone.

4. GYM: Attach it to your gym bag and water bottles, so there is no mistaking who it belongs to.

5. BABY: Attach it to strollers and diaper bags, in case mommy brain gets the better of you.

6: KIDS: Attach it to your kids’ bicycles. In my neighborhood they pick up bikes that are just laying on the sidewalks and many of them sit unclaimed in the front office. With a tag, the office would know who to call.

7. KEYS: Anyone who has keys – adults or kids – can attach this to their key ring. It will help their key ring stand out and if misplaced, they can get reconnected with the keys though a quick call.

Without a doubt, my oldest loves super heroes. Ironman, Spiderman, Hulk … and of course, Batman. I love this heroic obsession, since many of these characters have many admirable traits. And I love how active his imagination is as he pretend to be his favorite heroes. So, as a mom I do everything I can to indulge this love, from toys, games, t-shirts, action figures and more.

So, I was so EXCITED to see that Warner Bros. The collection includes a hooded rain slicker with removable cape, Batman boots and a matching Batman umbrella that displays the Bat-Signal. Currently this selection is available at Nordstrom’s nationwide, as well as at select specialty stores.

The Batman raincoat with detachable cape is available from 2T to 6X. My son received 4T/5T for review. I think it’s real neat that the cape is detachable. It is made of a lighter material than the slicker itself, which is tough and thick. The raincoat mimics Batman’s molded suit. It hangs low on my son, keeping him very dry when paired with the boots. And the attached hood adds water protection even when not used with the umbrella. (Retail Price: $44.95)

The Batman rain boots are  available in child’s size 5-13 and youth sizes 1-4. My son usually both wear 8.5, but we received the 9 to review. It has two loops on either side of the boot that allows him to put on and take off the boot himself, at only 3 years of age. And this kid usually ARGUES with me to wear shoes outside, but he’s taken to wearing them everywhere… even when it’s not raining! The boots are black with a bat signal logo on the side and a 3-Dish Batman leaping from the front of the boot. High quality, sturdy – perfect for your little super hero! (Retail Price: $32.95)

When it comes to children’s umbrellas, I only have my 25 year old Snoopy Umbrella to compare to. (I still have my kid umbrella from childhood, I passed it on to my kids.) That umbrella used to clip my fingers when i would try to open and close it. But the Batman Umbrella you can just slide open and close. And when it is open, it doesn’t just slide closed on the child using it! (Retail price: $14.95)

All of these products were tested on a rainy day and I have to say it made splashing in puddles a lot of fun for my oldest. I would definitely say that Bruce Wayne would approve – I know the Mom Buzz does!

Tommee Tippee may be a funny name, but now that I have experienced the brand the name is easy to remember. Tommee Tippee creates bottles and cups that are meant to help make each transition from breast to bottle to sippy cup to toddler cup just a little easier. We had a chance to participate in a “Tommee Tippee Blog Tour” with the Mom Bloggers Club and my husband and I are extremely pleased with the cups we received for the boys. We had a chance to try the Trainer Cup – Stage 1 and the Drinking Cup – Stage 5. My boys are 25 months and 3.5 years.

We received the Trainer Cup in a 2-pack for boys. One had a turtle on it and the other an owl. My little one loved both images and they actually enticed him to drink from the new cup. The cups are easy to clean. There is a 2-piece valve inside that has to be removed during cleaning, but so far it pops back in easily and cleans well. The spout is soft, for sensitive gums. My boys used to chew these spouts off, but so far it is intact. There are handles on either side to make it easy to hold. The cup is good for 6 months and older. It holds up to 9 ounces. So far the cup has not leaked, yet it is still easy for my son to drink from. Plus, it’s BPA free!The two pack is around $7.99.

Although my little one can successfully use this trainer cup, he and my older son absolutely prefer to use the Stage 5 Drinking Cups (Explora) we received from Tommee Tippee. Those are their cups of choice nowadays. I love it for a lot of the reasons I like the Trainer Cup – it’s BPA free, cleans well, doesn’t leak and is easy to drink from. I know, because I tried myself! I hate when the boys try to drink and nothing comes out! But we didn’t have that problem this time around thanks to the Advance-flo technology. The cups are insulated, which allows the drinks to stay cooler longer. That’s great for longer trips. The cup also holds 9 ounces. A 2-pack costs $7.99. Also, the designs on the cups have not “washed off”. After repeated washings, I notice other cups designs fade or look haggard. So far these Tommee Tippee Cups are in excellent condition, even after repeatedly running them through a dishwasher.

So of the two cups I tried, I prefer the Explora truly spill proof drinking cup from Tommee Tippee for children 24 months and older. My favorite feature is the active sensor valve that was designed by a physicist to be so sensitive that liquid flows on demand, yet the cup remains truly spill and leak proof. It is so important to protect your child from the sun’s harmful rays. There are many child-friendly products that can assist, such as UV Shirts, Child Sunglasses, Car Shades and kid-friendly Sunscreen. But one product I recently discovered and love is a protective sun shade that can attach to a stroller.

The stroller sun shade from Bebe Soleil attaches to a stroller’s existing canopy with magnetic connectors, so it works with almost any type of stroller. There are no clips that may damage the canopy! When you need to remove the sun shade, you simply separate the magnets from one another. When the sun shade is on, you can still raise and lower the canopy without any interference. But in the meantime, your child is protected from harmful UV rays, whether you are taking a walk to the park or are strolling around a theme park.

I had absolutely zero problems when attaching the Bebe Soleil. It was a snap, thanks to the magnets. The first time you use it, you need to remove the protective plastic covering. But once attached, my toddler could enjoy his view through the transparent material, with no eye strain or glare!

3-Tier Blue Stork Diaper Cake

One item that is so popular at baby showers nowadays, both for its aesthetic appeal, uniqueness and practicality, is a diaper cake. You can find tutorials on how to make them online, or you can leave it to the professionals who know how to stack and decorate a gorgeous cake for whatever baby shower you are hosting or attending.

My BFF (Best Friend Forever) is pregnant right now! I am already planning her shower. I have a place that I am purchasing show favors from … but her diaper cake is coming from Lil’ Baby Cakes. Lil’ Baby Cakes specializes in upscale diaper cakes and other unique baby gifts. I received a Lil’ Baby Cakes diaper cake to get a better feel of how they were assembled and decorated.

First off, since this is being MAILED, packaging is important. The owner really took care with protecting the diaper cake with bubble paper and other packaging material so that it would not jostle too much by the time it arrives. When I removed the cake from the box, I was thrilled! I was surprised with a 3-Tier Blue Stork Diaper Cake. This cake consists of 40 Pamper Swaddlers, sized both 1 and 2. There was also a cute Gund Stork Rattle, Qtips, Johnson Travel Size Shampoo, Wash, Lotion, Washcloth, Desitin, and Powder. There are three huge ribbons that wrap around the diapers, each blue with images of storks. The cake even smells wonderful, like baby powder.
