I love Aurora Plush Toys. They are the ones that make the beloved Yoo-Hoo & Friends. My oldest son has a lemur Yoo-Hoo with a blue-striped tail that he just adores – he named it Yo-Yo.

Well, now my youngest son also has an Aurora plush to cuddle. It is from the Quizzies line, which is especially soft and floppy, with embroidered details. (No button eyes that can fall off and become a choking hazard.) You actually probably saw the Quizzies Bun-Bun Bunny on my site already if you took a gander at my Easter Basket Ideas for 2012: Think Outside the Basket.

Bun-Bun Bunny is just one option, available with pink or blue details. There are also lions, bears, dogs, cows, pigs and an elephant. Some have pink or blue options, while others are their “usual” colors. Like the elephant is gray, the lion is orange and yellow and the pig is piggie pink. Most of them are 17″ tall, but a few are 12.5″ and 16″. I prefer the 17″, like Bub-Bun Bunny.

They are SO SOFT, it’s like petting a chinchilla! Depending on the size and style, prizes range from 13 – $17.

Our blue Bun Bun Bunny has a special place in my 4-year old’s heart. Of hundreds of plush animals, Bun Bun Bunny is now in a special group of plush toys he MUST have with him at all times, which also includes Happy Feet and the beloved Sea Otter. And Bun-Bun Bunnies are PERFECT for Easter! Here are direct links to both bunny styles.

Buzzworthy: Be on the lookout for these adorable 8.5″ Quizzies from Aurora Baby. I can’t find them on the site just yet, but they have the same softness and embroidered detailing of the larger Quizzies, but with a sweet rattling sound to engage your baby as they play!

Baby registries are nothing new! Remember when you used to go to the store with a little scan gun and scan the items you thought you’d need for baby? And then stores started getting savvy, allowing you to go online and make a registry without leaving the comfort of your home or robe? Back when I was pregnant, the popular places to register were the same places that had “brick-and-mortar” stores you could also visit.

But seriously, doesn’t everyone shop from Amazon now? You can find almost EVERYTHING online at Amazon.com – even baby registries! And shoppers can often find a better price on Amazon.com, compared to actual stores!

Pretty much, this chart shows a 10 – 13% savings by shopping for popular baby items at Amazon.com! Plus, the Amazon Baby Registry gives you the following convenient features:

365 day returns

Universal Functionality (Wish from ANY WEBSITE!)

Baby Registry JumpStart tool to walk you through 15 registry essentials to consider, showing the most popular items from bottles to swings to car seats.

Registry Thank You Tracker

10% Completion Discount to help you get everything on your list at a price you can afford

ONE ITEM TO ADD TO YOUR REGISTRY

Real quick, if you are expecting and need an awesome stroller, check out the Britax B-Agile Travel System. First off, just to show the savings you get on Amazon – normally it retails for $399, but you can get it for $339 on Amazon. It is available in black (great for hiding stains) and red (which is just FABUOUS). It comes with the carrier/car seat and stroller. Features include:

The B-safe, features side impact protection which distributes crash forces, shields from vehicle intrusion and contains the head and body

The B-agile, suitable birth to 55 pounds, features a lightweight aluminum frame and a one hand quick fold design

The B-safe, features a 30-pound weight capacity, a tangle free, five point harness, and energy-absorbing foam liner

The B-agile, has three-wheel design which provides improved steering and maneuverability

Or maybe you planned a baby shower for your friend, coworker or family member? Was it hard or easy to plan? I’ve planned a few of them and I wanted to make sure all the details were in place, from invitations to favors, and games to dessert! If you’ve planned one, how did you add that special touch to make it memorable?

Well, if you need ideas, Pampers has been throwing baby showers all throughout May, with the help of Points of Light Institute. They will throw even more baby showers in June, to total 1,000 baby showers for expectant mothers across the country with pictures and stories to be shared on their Facebook page.
Details: The mission is to help give dads the time he and his baby deserve to bond as it’s critical to his baby’s development. If Pampers gets 4,000 commitments to complete the mission, Pampers will throw special Father’s Day cook-outs for dads and babies across the country designed to give dads and their babies valuable bonding time. And caring for their health starts before they are even born – even before conception. Without a doubt, us moms and moms-to-be need to have a healthy body, full of the right minerals and vitamins to help our children develop properly from conception.

One of my biggest memories of how important that is was with a March of Dimes ad campaign where a LIVE stork was walking through an office building. He stops at one of the offices and peeks in at the woman sitting inside. The line was that you never know when the stork is going to deliver a surprise. So the idea is that the woman has a surprise pregnancy, was her body prepared? It was an ad campaign about the importance of Folic Acid.

If you aren’t taking vitamins ahead of time, then of course start once you find out you are pregnant! The truth is, most women are not getting all the nutrients they need from their daily meals – especially if they are craving Blizzard Milkshakes and McDonalds over Spinach & Chicken Salads and some brown rice. And it’s not just “traditional” eaters who have this problem – but vegans and vegetarians, as well.

One vitamin to consider, if you are either trying to conceive or have already become pregnant, is Bebe-O Prenatal Vitamins. These vitamins are developed so women of every lifestyle can take them without doubt.

Bebe-O vitamins have been registered by the Vegan Society as a Vegan Prenatal Vitamin. That means it contains all-natural vegan ingredients. There are no animal products or by-products – and the truth is, who wants some beef in their prenatal vitamin? It has what you need, which is a complete formula including vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and digestive enzymes. There are NO artificial ingredients or allergens. It is safe for EVERY PREGNANCY.

For every bottle of bebe-O sold, a donation is made to Vitamin Angels- helping support Vitamin A deficient children under 5 yrs old worldwide.

After reading about Bebe-O’s natural prenatal vitamins, I found a lot of features I like.

1. No Allergens

2. No Artificial Ingredients

3. No Animal Products or By-Products

4. Complete Formula, everything a pregnant woman needs

5. 4 small capsules to take, rather than 1 – 2 gigantic pills – makes it easier to swallow!

6. Gluten Free

7. 600 mg of Folic Acid

8. Offers morning sickness relief – the formula incorporates digestive enzymes AND ginger root which have been proven to help aid digestion.

Bebe-O and the Mom Buzz are so sure that pregnant women and women who are trying to conceive will benefit from Bebe-O that we are giving away 1 free bottle of vegan prenatal vitamins.

Dedicated readers know the Macy’s Day Parade is a HUGE influence. How can you NOT like a company that gives us an AWESOME parade every year for Thanksgiving and to welcome the winter holidays?

Okay, that said – Macy’s is also really involved with charities – encouraging you to shop for a cause. And they just have just fab fashions and styles, not just limited to adults. They have tiny, adorable outfits for baby’s that definitely make a first impression at a baby shower or new baby gift.

They have two lines of clothing under the name First Impressions (available ONLY AT MACY’S) – the Satin Hanger Collection and the Everyday Value Collection.

Satin Hanger Collection: The name says it all. Smooth looks for tiny tots. They make the most adorable baby even cuter! For girls there are smocked and chiffon dresses, as well as smocked legging set. For boys there are adorable sweater vests, patterned/coordinated shirts and pants and the cutest shortalls with complementing shirts. Honestly, I love ShortAlls on little boys – it’s just too cute.

In for the season for boys are plaids and patterns. They don’t forget that it’s made for boys, with cute applique animals adorning soft polos. I saw a size 0-3 polo/short set close-up and just wished it was a little (a lot) bigger to stick my baby (2 year old) in it. An outfit like that would cost between $16 to $32 dollars – definitely grab it if you see it for $16!

This collection is perfect for special occasions, family photos, holidays and impressing in-laws. This collection is available in sizes 0 -24 months.

Everyday Value Collection: When you don’t mind if your kid moves and grooves, but still want them to look adorable – check out the Everyday Value Collection. This is perfect for library visits, play dates and going to the park. These are adorable clothes at reasonable prices. (Excite the eye – soothe the pocketbook.)

I don’t have a girl – but I have done my fair share of shopping for nieces and goddaughters. So when I saw an adorable, floral accented, pink/white 5-piece set I oohed and ahhed to myself lifting each 100% cotton piece out knowing that style wasn’t compromised for value. The cotton is not too thick – not too thin. The elastic was giving, but not droopy. The floral was sweet, but not overdone. A five-piece set like that costs between $11.99 and $14.98. FIVE PIECES for TWELVE DOLLARS! That’s insane! With the set you get pants, a bib, two onesies and footy pajamas.

Other items that you will find with these great prices include 3-piece sets (onesie, bib, pants), boat shoes, ballet shoes and plenty of layette basics – towels, blankets, pajamas, bathrobes and more. This collection is available in sizes premie to 9 months.

PLUSH: Based on the 14″ plush bear I saw, you can’t go wrong with their plush collection. So soft with an embroidered nose and eyes. He is so cuddly for a little one. I also think he would make a great topper for a diaper cake – *hint*hint*. it has an Everyday Value of $12.98. If Blue Bears aren’t your thing, there is also a pink bear, brown giraffe and off-white sheep.

Remember, First Impressions is available only at Macy’s. For everyday to special occasions, these outfits and accessories are perfectly adorable and make great gifts.

Often, the first big event after the birth of the baby is the baby’s Christening! It’s a moment of great anticipation as families gather to celebrate a new arrival. It is the way we start to preserve our heritage. Precious & Few Infant Wear creates Christening Gowns for this first important occasion. These are lovely gowns with great attention given to quality, style and workmanship. Our gowns are meant to be saved and cherished for future generations. Personal attention is given to every detail! Visit us at www.preciousfew.com.

“Family traditions preserved with care are beautiful memories”

Tips for a Memorable Baptism
1. Involve the family members who have taken part in this very special moment.Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles love to help make the selection. Sometimes they make the Christening Gown a gift to the baby.

2. Choose the fabric to reflect your style. Linen is a fabric used for centuries for important occasions. The choice may reflect national origin, or it can be a great selection for warm climates. Silk is often considered the fabric of royalty. It’s used for dressy or formal occasions. In either case, both fabrics are graceful and lovely!

3. Personalize your gown! In pink, blue, white or ivory, a monogram adds a special touch. In the past, monograms were used to mark an item of great importance.

4. Honor your family traditions and take lots of pictures to capture the importance of the day and all of the moments you want to remember. In the future, it will mean a lot to tell your child the story.

5. And, finally, save your gown for its keepsake value. These are the items that bring continuity to each generation. They help link-us-together, moment by moment, and supply something to hold onto in changing times. Someday, it will be fun to look back at your heirloom and reflect on the importance of the day. It’s all outlined on our website! Most of all, enjoy the preparations and the Christening Day! It will fly by all too soon!

I am uber excited, with games planned, a diaper cake centerpiece, baby shower favors and prizes ready. I really want this party to be special, since it’s for my very best friend. So when Vered told me about the Baby Bunch – it’s a bunch of baby clothes styled to be a bouquet of flowers – I was SOLD! I knew immediately that the presentation would look great next to the diaper cake and it would be sure to get a lot of oooohs and aaaahhhhs from the other ladies.

You know that the Baby Bunch must be cute, if it got Martha’s seal of approval, right? I love the presentation idea she had, putting the cute bouquets in little garden-like pails. I was thinking I was going to take it out of its box and put it in a blue vase next to the diaper cake. Then I would discreetly give my friend the box so she knew what each flower really was.

You see, that’s because they actually rolled baby essentials into flowers, then added some faux florals to complete the look. So what looks like a cloth flower could really be a bib, socks, hat, onesie or t-shirt. I received the blue medium bunch for babies 0 to 6 months and up to 16 pounds. This set included 1 t-shirt, 1 hat, 1 bib, 1 onesie (all of these items are blue), one pair of blue socks and one pair of white socks. The faux flowers that were interspersed through the bouquet were blue and violet. The leaves are a deep green. This “blue” bouquet is also available as a large bunch or premium bunch.

There are so many colors to choose from. I noticed the color selection has changed since when I looked at the site last month. Now you can choose blue, cornflower, apricot, winter, yellow, blush and pink. Whoa…talk about choices. These bouquets start at $59.95. The baby clothes are made from 100% baby soft cotton.

I love the rest of their selection too – they also have cupcake onesies, lollipop sets and crayon rompers. I just love the presentation as either a great baby shower gift or part of the baby shower decor.

I helped her mom with the first shower, sending out invites and organizing baby games. And I’ve also organized baby games and decorations for a baby shower for my sister. So, I decided to compile a list of my favorite games, for people who are also planning baby showers!

1. Pass the Gift Rhyme: This is the rhyme I used for my friend’s last shower. I put each individual rhyme on notecards. I let the mom-to-be shuffle all the cards, except for #1 and #11. Then I read the notecards in the order she gave them back to me, of course adding the first and last card back into the pile. The instructions in the rhyme will have them pass the gift around at random. The person holding it at the end gets to keep the prize.

The news is out, she ‘s having a baby! To celebrate, this goes to this great lady! (Give the gift to someone random.)

If someone wears a shirt with blue, she must take this gift from you. If blue cannot be seen, it goes to the one wearing green.

I will now read another verse…please pass it to the one with the largest purse.

There is no time to linger! The box goes to the one with most rings on her fingers!

Ready for a task that’s not too hard? Pass it to the one who has the most credit cards!

Alas, this gift is not for you. It now goes to the one with the largest shoe.

Thank you for coming & to celebrate this good news. Now pass this gift to the person who sits to the left of you.

Mommy is anxious. Daddy is nervous. Now pass this to the lady who drove the furthest.

The suspense is almost too much to bear – pass it to the woman with the longest hair!

We hope you all are having fun. We have tried to include most everyone. From the largest purse to the largest shoe, pass this gift to the right of you.

We’re ending this rhyme, this is the last poem, the prize you are holding is yours to take home!

2. Don’t Say Baby: This is one of my favorite games. I play it at every shower, since it is ongoing throughout the event and easy to play. First, every guest needs to get “something” to wear – like a ribbon with a tiny pacifier on it or a little pastel clothes-pin – you can find both the tiny pacifier and clothespins at party supply stores. Once everyone has an item, you tell them the rules.

Don’t say “baby”

If you say “baby” and someone catches you, they take all your pins/ribbons/etc.

The person with the most pins/ribbons/etc. at the end wins a prize.

3. Measure the Mama: Pregnant moms hate this game. Guests love it. Give guests a chance to cut a ribbon that they think will fit the mom’s waist. The ribbon that is the closest to the pregnant mom’s belly circumference wins a prize.

4. My Water Broke: Get an icecube tray, fill it with water and place little plastic babies in the water, as well. Once frozen, there will be a baby per icecube. Give each guest a cube with a baby. The first one to free their baby, with their breath, hands, etc, and says, “My Water Broke” wins.

5. Nesting: I made this game up, perfect for an Easter-time baby shower. Have as many (or more) Easter Eggs as you have guests. Put a Prize Note in one of the egg. Everyone gets an egg. Use a sticker to “seal” the eggs to ensure there is no tampering, since guests can’t open it until a certain time. But – throughout the party they can TRADE eggs, steal unguarded eggs and take eggs whenever someone says “Baby”. The more eggs they hold onto, the better chance they’ll get the prize!

6. Baby Shower MAD LIBS: Give each guest a sheet of paper with the words/adjectives/nouns/etc they need to fill in for the Mad Libs story. (Sheet can be downloaded here: BabyShowerMadLibs). Have them hand you the sheets so you can complete the story. Just shuffle the sheets they gave you and use their “answers” one-by-one to complete the story. For example, use the body part from person #1′s sheet, the location from person #2′s sheet and so-on. That way everyone contributes.

The very last thing fill-in that every guest needs to complete is their name. So when you fill in the last line of the story – it says “So, who’s going to have the next adventure? My sources say “Fill in the guest name”! But let’s start small and give them this prize instead!” So it is completely random who really wins that prize and everyone has a good laugh. Remember, you can download the Mad Lib-style story and Fill-in’s here: BabyShowerMadLibs.

Those are my favorite games! Feel free to share your game ideas, too, in the comments below.
